Quinn is three!!!
She turned three years old yesterday. its so hard to believe all this kiddo has gone through. From being born with extra pinkies, to spending some time in the neonatal intensive care unit. to spending almost every month in the hospital the beginning of her second year, to dwindling down to an almost healthy child. Wow. it's amazing. Yeah, she still has some "unknown disease" torturing her body, but we have at least come up with some kind of regimen to manage the symptoms somewhat and that is important. Quinn lives a very normal life.

She is almost completely weaned from the g-tube. i can't even remember the last time i tube-fed her. had to be a few months ago. I think she may get it out soon. She was so profoundly delayed in her speech and now, Quinn can speak in sentences and can predict outcomes of certain events and tell me how she is feeling. It's much more than what I could have thought possible a year from now. She is still low tone and much clumsier than children her age, but she is functional and is not 50% delayed anymore.

her fundoplication is still in tact and doing its job!

only a few of you are still here from the first day i logged on and posted. but most of you have been here since the beginning of her second year, when she was the sickest so you know how far she has come. :) it is amazing. Thank you for sharing this journey with us! -Sarah

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
Sweet baby! Hopefully it will all be uphill from here.
