I have 3 boys, youngest has gerd, 18 months of no sleep. Prevacid 2x/7.5 mg thinking of switching to prilosec.
have been up since 3am
Its going to be a long day. I've been up since 3am non stop nursing. Finally couldn't take it anymore. Tried giving him food, he wouldn't have it. Gave him tylenol. Husband scurried off to work early. He knew I was having troubles. I wish I had one of those cowboy lassoos so I could yank him back into the house and say, "here take him!" then I would hop in the car and go to the nearest hotel...David is watching little bear now. Thank God for TV!

Adriane Reese 05/16/07; seemingly healthy when born; diagnosed with MSPI, severe Reflux, Apnea, Ashtma, Epilepsy, and severe food allergies(rice, corn, milk, soy, eggs, oats, wheat, beef, chicken, squash, pumpkin, avocado, etc.);On apnea monitor, seems to be tolerating RCF w/carbohydrate mixed in; on Zyrtec, Xopenex, Prevacid
I'm sorry! We have all been there. It is amazing how dh can get up and get to work early when he knows what a hellish night you have had! Mine can barely get up normally but when we have nights like that he can be there up to 2 hours earlier! I hope you get the chance to take a nap.

Lorenzo b.4/25/07 1 week in NICU w/ aspirate pneumonia from a reflux episode; diagnosed GERD at 9weeks; Used Zantac for 5months. Currently using Chinese Medicine and Craniosacral Therapy. GERD, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Sensory Processing Disorder. Ask me about breastfeeding a refluxer! Pic: day 5 in the NICU.
Ugh, I don't know how you do it with your other little ones to care for and teach too. We've been up since 2am (and we don't have television -- though I now understand the appeal in ways I never did before!) and I am bereft of any imagination for what to do with the day. At least we are fortunate to live in a place where the sun shines this time of year, so we can go out for walks and work in the yard a bit...

((HUGS)) to you -- I hope, as always, that some relief comes your way...

Sara, Mom to Isobel 10/01/08 Dx Silent reflux @ 6 wks. Prevacid 22.5mg split in 2 doses. Pepcid .5ml twice a day. Diagnostically confirmed milk protein, egg and cat allergy. Suspected corn, pea and squash allergy. Trialed Alimentum and Elecare without success, currently on Isomil Advance RTF with moderate success. Barium Swallow and UGI 3/08 Pondering a ph probe and endoscopy.
I'm so sorry. I was up from 1:30 to 7 when my DH did take over. I shouldn't complain, but he NEVER remembers to give her her meds so now it will be 3 days of working her schedule back around with a fussy baby. He volunteers about twice a month if I've had a hard night- otherwise he's out the door with the rest of 'em. I think he understands that if he doesn't ante up at LEAST that often then neither will I. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

My name is being used fraudently to ill represent me. Please be cautious of any information you receive with my name. including,,, anything from anyone claiming to be Engi Nowaira online. Otherwise, I will be representing myself in person so that everyone will have opportunity to identify me in person.
My previous drivers license was also stolen. The new one has extra security features on it.
I am sorry all of you are dealing the same. I always thought if I had gotten a DH that didn't care or what. I mean I know he cares, but he sleeps through all the nights of crying, does none of the research, wants equal say in decisions for her health, and when he says he will watch her, he means just that.

He watches her disassemble the house and that is it.

I hope you get a nap or two in. I hope things get easier for all of us soon.

I am sorry we are all having such tough times.

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
Sorry for your sleep deprivation. It won't be long before you are sleeping again. I also may say you will never take it for granted. I now can't get enough sleep because of the torturous sleep deprivation.

Insist on a nap when hubby gets home. You need to recharge.

Check with your
doctor first!
