Picture: This is what happens when you raise a kid on health food and they get ahold of a Coke! Bad mom, that soda is NOT on the reflux diet.
UPDATE: Isaiah is now 12 and off meds! He is doing great, eating again and hopefully will be catching up in the growing department. I am still in the "hoping it sticks" phase, but we're so happy that he's better!
OT...argh, kitty issues again
Our kitty is sick again! Last time this happened, she nearly died and ended up with a huge vet bill. We can't do that again...if she requires more than a little in the way of medical intervention we're going to have to put her down. I feel terrible...she's not even a year old! I don't know if this is a digestive issue that the cat just was born with or if it's something she's been eating...she eats things she shouldn't ALL the time and just seems to be a little nutty that way. But now she's not eating any FOOD (but I keep having to take other things away from her) and she's vomiting again...the last time it looked like blood. I just feel awful for the kids...we thought she was better, and Isaiah just had his pet mouse die. It's been a rotten year for pets! If you don't mind and if you're the praying type, would you pray for us? I just feel a little overwhelmed right now and I'm concerned we're going to have to make some tough choices.

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
I truly feel for you. You know what an animal lover I am and I hate trying to explain that stuff to a kid. I will definitely pray. Has the kitty been tested for leukemia? I can't remember...I know that's a big thing with cats. I pray it doesn't come to putting her down, but if it were me (jmo) I wouldn't tell the kids you had to put her down. I'd tell them you're leaving her at the vet for observation and then let them think it happened naturally. That's what I would do bc I wouldn't be ready to explain euthanasia. That's a huge can of worms, especially for a kid as feeling as Isaiah seems to be :)

I'll be thinking of you and the kids and poor kitty.

Tracey, mom to Katie diagnosed with GERD at 3 week.
Hugs! We had a kitten that every time she got vaccinated she had to go into ICu because she ran a huge fever. We ended up giving her away because of that and other issues but it's hard when your pet requires so much in vet bills!
Check with your
doctor first!
