Question for those on Prevacid?
So I went today to pick up Abby's Prevacid. Turns out the Prevacid card won't work anymore and Prevacid is no a non-formulary drug with our insurance! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ME! Anyone tried to use the Savings Card this month? I checked their website and it doesn't even mention the program anymore!

So instead of $5/month we are going to have to pay $50/month!!! Lord knows that we can't swing that right now. And the only formulary is Nexium and I don't want to switch her when we are trying to wean her off of it. We do have an in on some free samples so hopefully we can get those until she is totally weaned.

So I found a # for Prevacid. I called and our card expired on 11/30 and you can't enroll in the program anymore. But she did find another card # for Abby. So she transfered me and they said that that # was still valid until 5/31/09. So I will use the free samples if I can get them, if not then I will call her pedi back and see if he can change her script back to 1 tablet per day (before we weaned to 1/2 tablet per day) so that the script will last 2 months unstead of 1 month.

Picture: This is what happens when you raise a kid on health food and they get ahold of a Coke! Bad mom, that soda is NOT on the reflux diet.
UPDATE: Isaiah is now 12 and off meds! He is doing great, eating again and hopefully will be catching up in the growing department. I am still in the "hoping it sticks" phase, but we're so happy that he's better!
AAAaaaaaaaaa! I am dreading the day when our card expires, and it's coming up pretty quick now. This month my copay went up enough that the card didn't cover the whole thing, which means that when it expires it's going to be really hard to afford the meds. I may give Prevacid a call, too. When will they come up with a generic for it!?! I hate to think of you having to change her dose just because of the cost...but we might be in the same boat soon, too.

I cannot remember what state u live in. If u can let me know, I will see if I can find more resources.

Please do utilize any resource u r able too, that is what they are there for and the companies do not miss anything from it, they get to write it off.

Prevacid assistance

Also, although they do have all these qualifications, in the past when we needed help, I found the companies will make exceptions if you can show financial burden.

Patient assistance programs Resources on Engi's website-let me know if u need more.

Well my connection can get us some samples that that will help. They should get us through until we have her weaned off. If not I am going to have her pedi write the script for her original dose and than that will last us 2months vs. 1 month.

Thanks engin117 for the info. but we wouldn't qualify for any assistance programs as my Dh makes too much money.
