back from the colonoscopy
The GI found inflammation in areas throughout her whole entire colon. He also found she had a lot of mucus too, this i understood was not a good thing but i don't know why. He got biopsies form every area and was able to reach into the small intestine. We have to wait for the biopsies to confirm anything and then she will be put on a new medicine and IBD will be looked into. Sorry can't write more right now, real tired hope all is well with everyone!

oh Kat, hugs!! I'm not surprised at all that she has inflammation, considering how many diapers she's been going through. It's both a blessing and a curse in a way....wanting a definitive diagnosis...but then you have one. The blessing is that if they know the WHY they can hopefully treat it. I mean, she is suffering, regardless....I will pray it is not anything serious, and something treatable so she can have some relief. HUGS!!!

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
I pray that this will give you some answers and a great action plan to get her feeling better soon.

I am glad the scope went okay and that it was done safely. I am not glad that she has inflammation, but I am glad that u know it is there and hope u can find a successful treatment. I would be curious to know about the mucous too! Hmm.

I hope that all of you get some rest tonight and let us know more as you find out.

Thank you for sharing. I am nervous Meggy's colonoscopy coming up on the 19 and this has helped to alleviate some of my fears.

Where did she have the scope done? Have a great night and hope she feels better soon.

Check with your
doctor first!
