Wow - The meds have kicked in! I have a baby who smiles! Not one scream of pain yesterday - better living through modern chemistry!!!! We even did some tummy time and played with toys. A-mazing! While at the GI earlier this week I mentioned my prevacid dosing issue (how to get full dose in the baby) and they handed me a Prevacid branded oral syringe - perfect for the job. Of course I had just bought a CASE (read: 1000) of 1 cc slip tip syringes from Terumo. Oh well, I can still use some of them for the Zantac doses. I will say, ladies, that it's very nice to know the syringe you're using is sterile.

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
I bet in high school, you never thought you'd love chemistry so much, lol. I'm so glad you're seeing that smile! I remember how we talked about Maggie never smiling. I noticed it before we figured out what was wrong with her. :( so sad.

Mom to Ethan, born 4/23/08. Diagnosed with Reflux at about 1 month, started medicating with Zantac, which wasn't helpful for us. At about 2.5 months, we started on Prevacid, twice a day, and that is working much better.
Ethan is breastfed and has a few solids that he is enjoying very much.
I am so glad she is feeling better. I remember very clearly when Ethan finally started to smile consistently. What a wonderful turn for the better!

1cc syringes
My DH and I own a medical business so we are able to order directly from Terumo... a case was $124.00 - what's that? 12 cents a syringe? I'm sure there are medical supply companies near you who you could order through. I've found myself using them to deliver a rapid dose of cold gripe water when Isobel has the hiccups. It seems to stop them immediately which then stops the horrible refluxing. Isobel is still doing well, but she seems to want to nurse every two hours which is a little hard on my sleep. All things considered I'm very, very grateful she's doing so well. It breaks my heart to read about so many LOs in pain.
