okay just got a call- reglan or other motility drugs like that are not an option for her b/c since she is not displaying upper motility problems such as reflux or vomiting, those would be ineffective on her constipation since food is moving through her system. B/c of her age and prematurity she is only approved for mirilax OR m.o.m. that's it. we can go up to 3 tsp of mirilax but no more. if that dosen't work then i don't know what we are going to do.

do you mind sending me some information on the research you gathered on fat malabsorption? i am just curious b/c emily seems to have the same symptoms lately and especially since she gets the horrible smelling mucus poop like jazz i was just thinking maybe i would look into it.

Meggy used to be that horribly constipated she completely weaned herself from any and all dairy. She refuses it even when offered, like she knows it is pain.

I am sorry u r dealing with constipation and hope that you find something that works and prevent any damage. Doctors don't seem to take it very serious till the permanent damage is there.

Prune juice is a little harsh, but is she allowed to have it when all else fails?

Also with the smelly stools, I hadn't thought about it till u said that. Meggy's has been smelling so aweful lately and now I wonder if that is what is causing it. It is bad enough we have to burn a candle to get rid of the smell. I thought it was just the Ultracare.

I hope she feels better very soon.

Aubrey's smells horrible! I mean I know poop is not supposed to smell good, but everyone comments on how aweful it is. What is that?
