Adriane ped apptAdriane hasn't felt good since this weekend. She has been very cranky, not eating much, going and getting her tylenol out of her med backpack. She has been sleeping quite a bit and just overall not herself. I honestly thought it was her ears again. We went to the ped this morning. she said that the pain is coming from her throat. Horribly red and raw. They checked for strep and it was negative. Waiting to see what the culture says but otherwise we will just have to do tylenol. She has has been asleep since 3:30 and it is now 7:30 and no sign of waking.
So, here is the appalling thing that happened at the docs office. Adriane and Morgan were in the playroom when a little girl(between 12 and 18 months) and her 10 yo sister went in. I was sitting right outside watching through the window, talking to one of Morgan's classmates mom. Next thing I know the little girl walked up to Adriane and bit her on the forhead! I mean hard. I'm surprised she didn't take a chunk out. When Adriane pulled away her teeth scraped her forhead and she has red marks as well as teeth marks on her forhead. She also scratched her cheek and chin. I was looking around for the girls mom and couldn't find her anywhere. Just the sister and what was I to say to her. I told the nurse and as soon as she got Adriane weighed and temp taken she went out to see if she could find them. They were apparently already gone. The doc gave me an antibx ointment, enough to last 5-7 days, in case it starts looking bad. I am still pissed. If she was awake I would take a pick and load it for you guys.
We turned in our apnea monitor today. I am still nervous but since we haven't been able to use it I guess it was a waste anyway. I suppose I thought that if she ever got really bad that we would have it and she wouldn't fight it then but I'm sure she would. So, I am the only alarm that she has. They upped her zantac dosage to adjust for the weight gain (woohoo). That is right I said weight gain. The high calorie formula is working.
On the other side Morgan woke up throwing up last night. So dh and I were up all night taking care of her, cleaning the carpet where she vomitted and washing sheets and blankets! UGH! The doc thought it might be strep but it wasn't either. She is feeling much better today so it must of been a short 24 hour bug.
Sorry this is so long and I hope that all of you are well and have a safe Thanksgiving. Know that one of the things that I am thankful for is all of you on here. Thank you for your support and understanding. -Amanda

|Sounds like you are having the same kind of week we are-ICKY! I hope everyone feels better soon.
I can not believe that little girl bit her. I am suprised the big sis did not go and find her mother. Maybe that happens all the time at their house-sad to think.
