A day from H**L!!
Holy cow! Is this Monday or what? I will make the LONG story as short as possible. I get up, get dressed to go to the gym (being optimisitic Aubrey is fine) and then A gets up. She is not fine. Call the pedi and make an appt to go in. Get the kids ready to go and out the door-barely on time. We are half way to the pedi when A begins to cough. I turn around just in time to see her projectile vomit-Nniiiccce. Guess what. I have no spare clothes in the car. I ALWAYS have extra clothes and diapers stashed. So I call the pedi office to see if I can reschedule since I have to stop at Target and buy clothes. Luckily, they were nice and said just to get there as soon as I can. Whew. Ran into to Target w/ ds and dd covered in vomit. Get her clothes, changed and dash out of there.

Here is a conversation I had w/ Brandon shortly after A threw up. B: Hey Mom. You know what?

ME: What?

B: I sawed (his great grammar) Aubrey throwed up.

ME: Yeah I did too.

B: Sometimes I need to throwed up, but I don't want to see it so I just swallow it.

ME: OH really does this happen a lot. (Saying calmly but in my head panicing that he is not free and clear of reflux)

B: Yeah, sometimes.

ME: You need to tell mommy when you do that so I know.

Of course talked to pedi and he is on prevacid for a few months in hopes of a flare up. She cracked me tho. When told her she looked my way but said very nicely to Brandon how it was good he told mommy and he needs to be sure and tell mommy when it happens. NICE!

OH wait. My day is not done yet... We go to Target to get the rx filled. I wait my 25min and go back to the pharm dept to pick up my rx and the pharmacist tells me that they just need to mix it but the ab copay is $60. WHAT??? So she says she will call my ins. and then the pedi and see what they can sub. for it. !.5 hours laters I am walking out of Target w/ my $10 rx....

My dh is working late today and I have to go and clean up vomit out of my car!!! Hope everyone is else is having a much better Monday!

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
ewwwww all the way around. what a crappy monday!

Sinus inf. She just has so much mucus she threw it up. Which is a good thing, just wish her timing would have been better. We can not use augmetin b/c the lactic acid (did not catch what it is in it) rips her poor tummy up and is what caused her to get anal strep....

:(

That does sound like an awful day. I will be praying Aubrey feels better soon!!! ((HUGS))

FYI, for vomit in the car... Once it is cleaned out as best you can there is a spray called "OUT! Stain and Odor Remover" that will get the smell out. It is in the pet section at our Walmart. I had to use it after Ava hurled all over the van. Check to make sure it will work on your seats but it was fine on ours and I drenched her car seat in the stuff.

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
Oh my! Just another day in the life - isn't it? Tomorrow has to be better. Hope she feels better soon.

Katie did the same thing last year. I was taking her to the after hours clinic and she puked on the way. Well......I took her in ... puke and all!
