Adriane Reese 05/16/07; seemingly healthy when born; diagnosed with MSPI, severe Reflux, Apnea, Ashtma, Epilepsy, and severe food allergies(rice, corn, milk, soy, eggs, oats, wheat, beef, chicken, squash, pumpkin, avocado, etc.);On apnea monitor, seems to be tolerating RCF w/carbohydrate mixed in; on Zyrtec, Xopenex, Prevacid
another ear infection, reflux flare & weird reaction
On Saturday, Adriane would bring me the motrin or the tylenol about every 3-4 hours, we have a back pack with her epi pens, tylenol, motrin, steroids, and benadryl in it for emergencies.

I thought maybe it was teeth and then she starting pulling and digging at her ear. Then she was having trouble standing which all three combined usually indicate an ear infection. Yeah, more antibx. This makes her 3rd this fall, 4 total.

She is obviously having a reflux flare because she didn't eat much and she was spitting up large amounts of formula and she was drooling like crazy. I looked to see if any of this was her teeth and couldn't see any budding.

So, here is the weird reaction. We had Thanksgiving with my mom's side of the family yesterday. We had to make the announcement to not feed the child. Of course, my dh said don't feed the animals but you know how they can be. Everyone did great and she sat in the high chair eating ice while everyone else ate. Then later I noticed her cheek breaking out and swelling up. It was so red and swollen. My mom spoke up and said that she had just kissed her on the cheek after putting on Bath and Body works lip stuff. I wasn't upset with her just shocked that it made her have that much of a reaction. I looked at the ingredients and there are so many and even dyes and stuff that I couldn't pin point what it could be or maybe a combination of two or three. It was just weird.

Thanks for reading and I hope everyone else had a good weekend. -Amanda

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
Don't we hate winter!
