This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
We get the Klaire Labs ones and they're fantastic - you can get an infant powder and add it to bottles or solids, as long as the food isn't over 100 degrees F. www.protherainc.com I believe you have to have an MD's authorization code or your MD can order them for you.

sharlin, mom to aviah, smith and faye (4/08)-dx with acid reflux (mostly silent) at 6 months.
Looking back I suspect she's been dealing with this for most of her little life. She's tried about every formula in the book and is currently on liquid alimentum, which has really helped a lot with her fighting feedings. We also tried zantac, but she became MUCH worse, and so we've been trying to work on helping her through her diet. she's also taking probiotics, and i'm hoping to get her eating some solids more regularly.
we are using baby's jarro-dophilus. you can get it several places, but i got mine at vitaminlife.com i'm curious it other parents have seen a big difference with what they are using. i don't feel like i have, so i wonder if it's the kind you use (although this is supposed to be a good kind) or if it's just hit and miss. (like everything else seems to be.)

Adriane Reese 05/16/07; seemingly healthy when born; diagnosed with MSPI, severe Reflux, Apnea, Ashtma, Epilepsy, and severe food allergies(rice, corn, milk, soy, eggs, oats, wheat, beef, chicken, squash, pumpkin, avocado, etc.);On apnea monitor, seems to be tolerating RCF w/carbohydrate mixed in; on Zyrtec, Xopenex, Prevacid
I have thought about trying probiotics but I am worried about all the allergens. Several that I looked at have some sort of milk or shellfish ingredients. Do any of you have one that doesn't have all those?

I really recommend the Klaire labs for hypoallergenic probiotics....take a look - part of their mission statement is that it's common-allergen free.

The key to good probiotics is that you get as many strains of active bacteria as possible - many commonly found ones only have up to 4, and there's at least 14 strains that I know of offhand. Talk to your MD's or pharmacy and see if you can get an auth code to order them from prothera (www.protherainc.com) I highly recommend them - they've taken care of a number of GI issues my fmaily has - no cure, but vast improvement (from pediatric and adult GERD to IBS).
