no eating
past two (almost 3) days emily has pretty much refused to eat. i even offered her french fries from a restaurant that are her favorite and she wouldn't eat them. She had a great day on sunday and was in the best mood we had seen, i think it was b/c there was no food in her system to make her feel crappy.

today she asked for food but refused it after a couple bits , she painted with her yogurt refused 2 diff cereals, she had a couple bits of hotdog and a slice of cucumber, and refused pasta. she asks for milk but throws it on the floor. too bad she couldn't wait to do this on her clean-out in a couple weeks!

this isn't normal for her but she dosen't look like she is feeling bad, when do you think i should worry?

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
maybe teething? Poor darlin...wanting the food but cant eat it!

That's okay Kathryn. Your'e welcome :)~

Does she have constipation issues like Aubrey??? She could be back up and that woudl make her not want to eat. Is she in a reflux flare, or have you tried to wean meds??? Just trying to brainstorm.

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
Could she have a little virus?

oh, the little stinker! I wouldn't worry too much, but I would keep a log (if you don't already, lol), particularly since she has tests on the horizon, and you'll have the doctor's attention. Even "normal" toddlers go through spells of not eating, but I think you hit the nail on the head, as far as her feeling well because she isn't. One thing I've learned is that no amount of worrying will change the eating. Keep offering, and push fluids. We're on a milk strike here. Rory ONLY drinks chocolate milk at the moment, so I've been pushing juice and water. I know Emi can't do chocolate though, right? She "could" have a virus and not have any outward signs right now. She's probably used to the "icky tummy" feeling a virus might cause, because of the reflux, so instead of complaining she just doesn't eat. I know you are very mindful of your girls and their habits, so you'll know when to worry. Definitely mention it to the GI if it becomes a long-term problem. I hope she starts eating for you soon. And YAY for no more teething!!!! Well, it would be yay, if you didn't have a brand new teether in the house, lol. HUGS.

lol michelle! i was thinking virus just like julie suggested but she hasn't had a fever. do fevers always accompany viruses? i wish i could wean meds but every time i do her reflux flares worse then ever :( You know... now that i think about it, last week she was doing the chest hitting thing, maybe it is reflux and it's got to a point where she dosen't want to eat. hmmmm not a bad thought. She was dealing with constipation issues but not like audrey's(at least not that i think), emily's were more from tight rectal muscles and weak abdominal muscles that can push down to evacuate.
