Just posting to post on a boring Sat afternoon :)
Hi ladies, E is napping and I am refusing to do housework for at least a little while :) We are doing okay; she has been spitting up again for a few days now but nothing really bad. i am trying to make things as "normal" as possible by not counting ounces of fluid intake. I don't pay any attention at all to the amount of food intake because I figure if she's pooing then she must be getting enough ;) She is throwing horrid fits in public lately, and not letting me set her down even at church, wants me holding her all the time. I think it might be bc she has teeth coming in.

Today i received completely unsolicited and unwanted advice that if she cries at church I should take her out and spank her and then bring her back in, and if she cries again in church to take her out and spank her again. Yep, I bet that'll teach her! That'll make her stop crying! Sheesh! This was from an older man at church. I don't think I will ever be able to spank her with the intent to hurt her. I have lightly swatted her before just to get her attn and it made me feel horrible and she hit me right back! Time out is the way to go with her because she does not respond to a firm "no" either a lot of the time. I am going to buy a "time out rug". Gosh, I get so much advice from ppl at church.

i am on homework and housework strike, well... for now... too loli love "older people" and their advice and since i am pretty young i get lots of it. spanking and play pens are the most popular, dh's grandma firmly believes in both. i am not a fan of either, that being said though- we have a major problem with emily running out into the road at our apt complex. i have tried everything i could think of yelling, firmly scolding, making it a game you name it. well she ran out into the road one day and ran in front of a car she thought it was hilarious. i don't know what came over me but i smacked her on the back of the leg and sternly told her not to do that ever again. ever since sher asks for my hand before stepping into the street and even looks for cars. i still don't believe in spanking but i think there is a time and place for every punishment... just like advice LOL

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
OMGosh! I don't understand people. I tell ya...it's a good thing that all this wonderful advice is given to y'all nice women and not me :)

I can't imagine spanking a kid bc they won't be quiet in church. I mean, it's hard enough to keep a 9 yr old occupied in church. I don't dare try to take Mags into the sanctuary. There's no way I could get anything from the message. Oh well, I'm sorry you even had to hear that.

Oh, and what Kat said. I agree totally. I've smacked Mags on the tushy (lol) for running down our driveway or something that might really harm her, but NOT to try to get her to be quiet in church.

I agree there is a time and place for every punishment! Spanking her to keep her quiet in church would make her cry harder IMO and would not make me feel good!

This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
All I can say is that the good Lord said to bring all little children to him....not to spank them for making some noise. *sigh* people! I doubt God minds....
Check with your
doctor first!
