growth chart and preemie- ot
just curious, i was checking the girls on their growth charts. Audrey is 26 inches and 12.8 lbs. If i put her under 5 month category she is 5-10% for weight. Her adjusted age is a little <4 months and that weight puts her at 10-25% so which do i choose?

camile- twins with reflux
Thomas and Lucas_2
Not sure if this will help but the boys' pediatrician used the preemie chart until they entered the "normal" chart. They were 31 week preemies and weighed around 4 pounds when they were born. They were of course off the charts for a while. During that period she used the preemie chart to see how much below they would be. Once their percentile was not negative anymore in the preemie chart, she started using the "normal chart". Not sure if I am making much sense :-) Camile

same here for my 31-weeker...he always uses the chronological age one now for her records, but if I ask him to he will check the adjusted age chart for me

My pedi, like Sharon's, uses the chronological chart but he always shows me the preemie chart also. According to the chronological chart they are not on the charts, but the preemie chart they are 5-10%. He said around the age of 2 that they should be caught up and be on the normal chart. HTH

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
Halley was 37 weeker, so a little later than A. The doctor always used the regular chart, but I would always check against her corrected age as well. She caught up at around 7 or 8 months.

UGH, I know how frustrating that is... I think you are supposed to use adjusted age while they are still infants (??). My twins were full term (38 weeks) but were small due to being twins. They really need a chart just for multiples too. B/c they would freak me out saying the girls were FTT when they were really just small to start with. They couldn't use an adjusted age b/c they were FT so they just used the "normal" chart. Annoying. LOL.
Check with your
doctor first!
