new reflux behavior
this made me so sad today. emily was hitting her chest hard twice, near her throat and kinda sticking her tongue out and swallowing. at first i thought it was a weird thing- cause you know kids do all sorts of weird kooky things that mean nothing. she wasn't chocking she was bothered by it but just went on about her business.

well tonight she sits on the couch with me and i feel her belly reflux into her throat and right after she hits her chest and gives me a sad "ow" face and sticks out her tongue a little bit. right then i almost wished she was only able to scream like when she was a baby b/c somehow that now seems easier to take then to see her kinda brush off pain and be able to express it, poor baby.

That is so sad:( I keep thinking it would be so nice for Nolan to tell me what is going on inside during the med wean but maybe being able to express it isn't such a great thing. GIANT HUGS KAT!

Ella 5/3/05 GERD, asthma, hypotonia, food intolerances, esophagitis, IBS //
Ava 5/3/05 asthma, food allergies
Pic: My girls! They are getting so big!
Hey Kat~ I am having the same issues with Ella right now. She actually painted me a picture of her tummy ache. Last night she told me that everytime she swallows she "throws up". :( I agree with you that it is so much harder to take when they can express it in such clear ways. It does make me wonder though how much she was hurting before that she couldn't tell me about. Poor kidos. I wish none of them had to be in pain.

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
oh poor thing! How horrible!
Check with your
