I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
anyone heard of...
Hot-Kid Baby Mum-Mum? They are little Rice Rusks (like biscuits for babies). They are all natural. The only ingredients are: Japonica rice, sugar, skim milk powder and sea salt. I know some kiddos have milk allergies... so they may not work for you...

But they just disintegrate when they hit her mouth.. so the risk is low for chocking. She loves them so much!!!!! We got them at walmart.

ethan's mom
Mom to Ethan, born 4/23/08. Diagnosed with Reflux at about 1 month, started medicating with Zantac, which wasn't helpful for us. At about 2.5 months, we started on Prevacid, twice a day, and that is working much better.
Ethan is breastfed and has a few solids that he is enjoying very much.
I've been looking for something Ethan could feed himself. we think he has trouble with milk, but haven't tested it in a while.

He keeps grabbing things from the table when we go out to eat. He had a whole piece of bread the other day, gumming away at it. My husband was so worried about him choking, and I was too, but he was happy, so I just watched closely for a while, and let him try it out. lol

My boys used to like those too. Their feeding therapist suggested it to us. As Michelle said, they offer very little in calories but are nice for eating practice and to bring out the joy in food. Other things she suggested and that worked for us are: Geber puffs, Pirate's Booties and Smart Cheddar Puffs. Oh, also, we add Spray Cheddar to many things they eat: they like to see it sprayed on their food. I pretend I am drawing eyes and hair to their food and they like it. Sometimes they will even eat it pure: sprayed into their mouth:-). That one has lots of calories and protein, which for us is important since they don't drink much milk and gag or simply refuse meat.
