Drumroll please-Aubrey
Aubrey woke up this morning and was jumping in her crib and acting fine. I had already made the appt w/ the pedi and thought about cancelling it. I decided not to since the mornings are always their best.

I told the pedi about her hiney, dark poop and last night she was saying owe when she swallowed. She checked everything and it looked good except her throat. Her tonsils are very red and inflamed. The pedi did a throat culture for strep and it came back negative. We then went to do bloodwork. I just got a call from the nurse and her WBC is high so we are starting on antibiotics. Right now they are thinking tonsilitis. They also did a throat culture, but that takes a few days to get back. So here we go again... Oh ya, the pedi also wanted to check her hemoglobin to see if she was anemic since she has been having dark stools. That came back normal so hopefully she doesn't have a GI bleed-Whew.

Oh ya, the kicker is I had already filled her rx for the anal strep and it was a $40 co-pay. She is not to take it yet. If after we finish the omnicef and are still having problems then we take the other. BUT of course it will expire before then!!!! I guess I will pour $40 down the drain!

Adriane Reese 05/16/07; seemingly healthy when born; diagnosed with MSPI, severe Reflux, Apnea, Ashtma, Epilepsy, and severe food allergies(rice, corn, milk, soy, eggs, oats, wheat, beef, chicken, squash, pumpkin, avocado, etc.);On apnea monitor, seems to be tolerating RCF w/carbohydrate mixed in; on Zyrtec, Xopenex, Prevacid
Well, at least they figured out the reason for the fever and stuff was tonsilitis. Stinks about the antibiotic. I hate it when they do that. Hopefully this will work.

Poor baby :( It sounds like tonsils, poor thing. She must feel so yucky. If her tonsils are inflamed and infected, could there be a possibility that any drainage or whatever could be causing the black stool? Not a GI bleed, per se, but you know....gunky stuff? How is she feeling now?
