ethan's mom
Meridith
Mom to Ethan, born 4/23/08. Diagnosed with Reflux at about 1 month, started medicating with Zantac, which wasn't helpful for us. At about 2.5 months, we started on Prevacid, twice a day, and that is working much better.
Ethan is breastfed and has a few solids that he is enjoying very much.

I was just noticing the differences in boys and girls in our little ones. Joslyn seems talkative, sat up pretty early, but seems to stay in one spot, and it sounds like Nicholas is like Ethan, on the go, not sitting up too much, and not really very talkative.

I knew that boys and girls were quite different, but I didn't think it was so apparent this early! lol

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
hehe! yes joslyn is very content where she is... but she did roll about 5 feet the other day! it is funny the differences!!!!!!!!

It is so funny. From your description, it seems like Joslyn calls to you when she needs or wants something, and Ethan scoots right up to my feet, but never thinks to "talk" to get my attention.

Renee, mother to Nicholas, born 4/18/08 with silent reflux, moderate laryngomalacia, Sandifer's Syndrome& suspected MSPI. On Neocate, Simply Thick and Prevacid. Also mother to Nathan, born 12/06/06, who had mild reflux the first few months.
Boys and girls do seem to be different. Nathan barely talks and from speaking to other moms, girls talk much sooner than boys. Nicholas never, NEVER is still. He even moves around a lot in his sleep. He notices absolutely everything and has to check it out. Never a dull moment!!
Check with your
doctor first!
