Mom to Ethan, born 4/23/08. Diagnosed with Reflux at about 1 month, started medicating with Zantac, which wasn't helpful for us. At about 2.5 months, we started on Prevacid, twice a day, and that is working much better.
Ethan is breastfed and has a few solids that he is enjoying very much.
Toy recommendations -- OT
Ethan's grandpa is visiting later this month, and has been so excited about Ethan, and I'm sure he will be more excited when he sees him scooting and playing with the couple of toys we bought for him. He went toy crazy with the other two grandchildren, so I suspect he will do the same with Ethan. We just ordered the Baby Einstein Bouncy activity thing, and bought a leapfrog piano this weekend.

We haven't had many toys before, since Ethan was content to be carried and watch what we were doing. Any suggestions for 6-12 month olds would be helpful.

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
we have the Einstein activity center... she loves it. I look forward to what people post here!!!!

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
I'm old-fashioned. I like toys that don't make lots of noise. Pull toys are fun a little later. How about the toys, I think fisher price, that come with the see through balls and cubes. You know the ones that have stuff inside them. There are all kinds of toys with those.

Nolan likes the soft tonka trucks. I also like the non noise toys, with the doz. daycare kids here it is loud enough LOL. The 10 month old in dc likes the little tike table thing. He just started to pull up to his knees to play with it. The kids like the blocks with the see through toys like Melissa said but they also love to throw them. One toy that I love cause it can hook on a stroller or groc. cart is the leap frog catipiller thing. It has numbers and music and colors. It is great to take places cause of the velcro handles.

Renee, mother to Nicholas, born 4/18/08 with silent reflux, moderate laryngomalacia, Sandifer's Syndrome& suspected MSPI. On Neocate, Simply Thick and Prevacid. Also mother to Nathan, born 12/06/06, who had mild reflux the first few months.
Being on number two, we have every toy under the sun, I think. We have one of the cubes with a bead rollercoaster and blocks with letter to turn etc. We got this for my older son at one year old, but Nicholas is enamored with it. He liked to play with the sides before, but now is reching up to the beads. It definitely is a toy they can grow with. Nathan still likes it at almost two and it will continue to be good as he grows as it has the alphabet and numbers on it. Nicholas also likes anything he can chew on right now (teething) so he has lots of soft things, he also really loves anything made of that crinkly material. There are so many fun things. Every kid is different. Have fun exploring. Also, we used to throw spatulas and the like into the playpen. They are fascinated by simple things too.

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
Halley would be happy just playing with a box with tissue paper in it at the age, but here are a couple of toys that she really loved/loves (I guess we can tolerate a little more noise around our house LOL!):

She also LOVES the nesting blocks and just about any kind of ball. One of her favorites is the big rubber ball that I got to get rid of my tummy flab that I never use :-)

Thank you guys! I am excited about him being interested in toys, rather than just getting his hands on whatever it is I am doing. lol

Check with your
doctor first!
