Mary & Nicholas 7-17-03 (non-refluxer)allergies, asthma on Singulair and Flovent & Aidan 1-28-07(my refluxer)Nissen Fundoplication on June 20, 2008, FTT, MSPI, DGE, ear tubes, allergies and severe GERD now currently taking just Prevacid and drinking Elecare Vanilla 1+.
I was thankful for my child having reflux today
I finally found my self thankful that my child has the ability to forcefully vomit. Aidan found one of his brothers nickels in his bag on the ride home from school today. They had a big carnival and they had to pay nickels and dimes to play the games. So of course he swallows it and I suddenly hear him choking in the backseat. I swerve to the side of the road and yank him out of his carseat and just as I am flipping him upside down to whack his back he forcefully vomits up two nickels. At the same time this happens two security guards from my front gate come running up to assist. They must of seen my look of sheer horror on my face. I am not positive that a dime wasn't ingested too but he seems to be breathing just fine so it will either be passed or found on his next scope. So sometimes puking can be an asset. Hope everyone else is having a much less eventful Halloween.

This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
Well those mysteries of life can sometimes be great too! Glad he's okay though - will pray that if he swallowed any more money that you'll hit the jackpot next diaper change...

ethan's mom
Mom to Ethan, born 4/23/08. Diagnosed with Reflux at about 1 month, started medicating with Zantac, which wasn't helpful for us. At about 2.5 months, we started on Prevacid, twice a day, and that is working much better.
Ethan is breastfed and has a few solids that he is enjoying very much.
I'm glad he is okay! How scary!
