Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Pineapple
Mags apparently still has trouble with pineapple. She is 22mo old and she spit up like a little baby yesterday. This is the second time that she has had a messed up tummy after eating pineapple.

I know this is no big deal, I just get these icky feelings every time something like this happens. Not too long ago I posted about something else...y'all know, it just makes me wonder about her future with this mess. I mean she might just have trouble with certain foods. I checked the pH of pineapple and it's pretty low. Actually lower than oranges. Oh well. At least I made the connection.

Well, a friend here gave me a website when I first started coming here. I'll put the link here. I was totally surprised at some of the foods that are acidic!!

Well, I don't have GERD, but pineapple always makes my stomach hurt and my mouth break out. Poor Maggie - she probably loves it just like I do :-(

Grace 7/2/04 reflux free now!
Molly 7/10/07 the reason I'm here!
I'm glad you posted this. I just gave Molly pineapple for the first time on Wednesday, and it really seemed to flare her reflux, too. We are still on meds, but it still bothered her. I haven't been brave enough to try oranges or tomato sauce yet. Does Maggie tolerate tomato sauce? I would love to try it, but am soooo nervous. My older children love spaghetti and meatballs so we have it often. I just give Molly hers plain, but she hasn't been eating much of it lately.

I forgot to say- Sorry she didn't tolerate it. I know what you mean about being worried about what will happen in the future. My 4 year old had reflux as a baby, too. She was able to stop her meds right around 13 months and could eat anything. Molly is 15 months now, she is still on meds, and she can't eat ANYTHING!! She can't do any milk or eggs, or citrus fruits. I am starting to wonder if she will ever grow out of this!

Maggie does fine with pizza and stuff like that. The pineapple is the only thing I've made a definite connection with. I guess maybe it isn't even reflux related...just something that bothers her.

Halley can do tomato sauce on pizza, but seems to do worse with things like spaghetti. My sister is intolerant of tomatoes, so hopefully that's not the case with my dd.

Poor Mags, pineapple is SO YUMMY! I have starting allowing ELyse to have a little bit of pineapple or tomato. She has also had one bite of orange in her life without a problem. Reflux sucks!

Sharon, I still can't get the guts up to try oranges. Silly, I know. I bought some and they stayed in the refrigerator until they rotted. Maybe when she goes to kindergarten... :-)

Maggie loves tomatoes. The mmo teacher comments about how most kids don't like it. I told her maybe it's bc Maggie is eating something she knows she had to do without for a while ;)
