Our 1 year old daughter has silent reflux, hypotonia as well as benign external hydrocephalus. We are currently weaning onto whole milk (we'll see if it works) and she is also on Prevacid 15mg per day.
ot- sleeping question
When did you ladies let your infants sleep w/ a blanket at night? The pedi says it's ok to do now that Keira is 13 months old but I'm still a little leary. What about stuffed animals?

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
Joslyn has used a blanket the whole time. We just recently stopped swaddling her, but we still use the Boppy sleep positioner. All I do is tuck the banket under the positioner and she is fine.

Mommy of Hunter born 07/16/08. Tongue tied at birth, never learned to bf well. Diagnosed with silent reflux at 5 weeks with barrium swallow. Fed on expressed breast milk. Currently on Gaviscon, Omeprizole (prilosec), Domperidone (Motilium)have yet to see medication have any effect on him. His biggest symptom is his distain of feeding time- he hates it. . Hospitalised for two weeks in September, fed through ng tube.
Hunter as always slept with a blanket. He had one in the hospital were he was born and they never told me not to.. I guess its different in the UK??

Yeah technically here they don't want you putting ANYTHING in the bed. The pedi about flipped when I said I was using a wedge for Keira's reflux when she was younger. I doubt Keira will even like the blanket as she HATES anything being draped over her. But she does really like one particular stuffed animal but it's sorta big. So I dunno....

Coyle Eagan. One Year Old. Doing well on Cow's Milk flavored with juice :) Drinking two bottles of Go&Grow daily. Eating solids better but still have rough days. No More Silent Reflux-that I can hear anyway.. but puking again. Zantac 2ML 2X daily.
we used the blanket sleepers last winter.. then when he could get to a sitting position on his own, roll over both ways, and crawl i started using a blanket while he slept in the crib. (always had one when he slept with me). if you are uncomfortable i'd go with the blanket sleeper.. they are fabulous and since coy is a "night mover" i'll probably go back to them this winter.

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
We put a lightweight soft flannel blanket on Halley. She usually ends up snuggled up with it with nothing on top of her. We've been giving her a blanket since she was about 10 or 11 months old. We're debating giving her a pillow - that still scares me. As was said in your previous post, a video monitor is a life saver - I just look at her from time to time to make sure the blanket is not on her face.

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Maggie has had a crocheted blanket for a loooooong time now. I guess since she was around....9mos. Whenever she outgrew those zipper sleeping bag things. I don't think I'd give her anything heavy but she's ok with something light. JMO

Renee, mother to Nicholas, born 4/18/08 with silent reflux, moderate laryngomalacia, Sandifer's Syndrome& suspected MSPI. On Neocate, Simply Thick and Prevacid. Also mother to Nathan, born 12/06/06, who had mild reflux the first few months.
I still have Nathan in a sleep sack, though not because I'm leary any more. He just seems attached to it. I had used a blanket with Nicholas when he was only a couple months old, but now he rolls around too much and I am worried he'd just end up tangled in it or it would be off not keeping him warm anyway. It is too warm here still to worry about blankets, but I'll probably go to sleep sack if it becomes necessary. I guess I didn't really help answer your question. Sorry

Are you really in the UK? I never knew that, lol. I wish you were on this side of the pond, I have a sleep sac I could send you. I never used it on Rory cause our apartment is ALWAYS hot. I wonder how much it would cost to send? probably tons. Rory doesn't sleep with anything but a giant-sized puppy dog. I usually don't go to her if she fusses at night, and I'm STILL afraid she'll tangle and I won't go in, and well.....you know. She wears a diaper shirt and sleeper to bed.
