diagnosis update-Julian/THANK YOU! First off Thank You for all the responses yesterday!
I called Dr. Whitney's after 2 p.m. since I did not hear back from her assistant. I called because I figured I schedule and appointment and get some answers. The reception did not want to give me an appointment unless he was sick because she indicated no follow up needed. GRRR! I was so mad.
So, I explained to her that the Doc said one thing and her assistant another and that I was utterly confused. I told her I didn't really care for an appointment really I just wanted answers. So she puts me on hold forever. At least I thought I was on hold. I turn over to my co-worker and said I was getting so effin angry! The receptionist was on the phone! lol!
I was totally not directing at her, but it worked because she put in a call and Dr. Whitney called me back withing 10 minutes...
It turns out the blood work was not an allergy panel it was to test specifically for Celiac's I was upset when she told me that bcause
1. I know from you lovely ladies and research online that it is inconclusive.
2. My son has been on a low gluten diet for ever. Mostly because I tend to eat healthy avoid starchy foods white bread, chips, pizza (really because of the tomatoes). I mean he would eat cereals, (lucky charms type stuff) oatmeal, yoghurt, which I then cut out because I thought he was intorlant to dairy along with cheeses, puddings, all the things kids love.
She then did a big oooo, I didn't realize! Really you didn't ask! She never once asked what his diet was like prior to the blood test. She said that could be then why the blood work came back normal.
So said she didn't think it would be necessary to rechallange him if he is doing fine w/o the gluten in his diet which now is 100% gluten free. She just suggested I give him the pro-biotics which I had already start last week. lol! She just said to call her if anything comes up!
Either way I just want to say thank you!! For letting me rant!
