Our 1 year old daughter has silent reflux, hypotonia as well as benign external hydrocephalus. We are currently weaning onto whole milk (we'll see if it works) and she is also on Prevacid 15mg per day.

How is Coy? How are you? Just checking in. Keira is eating but I think it's a combination of issues- I tried taking her from a split dose of Prevacid to one dose in the late afternoon. That's when she really didn't want to eat but I didn't link the two together till lately. So I went back to the split dose and now she won't fight me on eating. The other issue though that's still very much there is that anything that is wet or slimy (unless it's Yo Baby yogurt- go figure) she will not touch and she wants it off her plate immediately. So no veggies, no meats- nothing. I have to spoon feed her that IF she will take it but since being back on the prevacid she's done better with taking it. But I still feel it's important for her to learn to feed herself and not freak about the feeling of the food. So I think it's still worth taking her to the OT for that since they already know she has sensory stuff she's dealing with. She likes apple juice and though I'm not all that big on giving kids juice- it helps her keep regular so that's working well. It doesn't seem to aggravate her either which is amazing. Juices and I don't mix and I have reflux. Hope you had a great weekend! :)

Coyle Eagan. One Year Old. Doing well on Cow's Milk flavored with juice :) Drinking two bottles of Go&Grow daily. Eating solids better but still have rough days. No More Silent Reflux-that I can hear anyway.. but puking again. Zantac 2ML 2X daily.
Hi there. I'm glad that she is eating better for you. Do you think she won't touch it because she is frustrated that she can't pick it up? Maybe try rolling it in cheerios? good to get a professional opinion though.

Coy is not big on textured things or bitter stuff either. but if i mix foods in with other things he like he seems to do well with it. he is trying to feed himself with a fork. if i get a chance i'll post a pic. it is so cute. today he had spaghetti for lunch-which he loves-he went down for a nap @ 1 and then woke up screaming @ 145... i SO hope that it was not the sauce. See, once i held him he stopped crying tho. .. so i think it wasnt a tummy ache. who knows anymore.. I so wish he could talk to me, kwim. He's been off the zantac for 3 weeks. When i was gone for the weekend he took both naps and slept thru the night for daddy. since i've been home he wont sleep during the day nor sleep @ night w/o me... so, i think this is more of a seperation anxiety thing then anything else... lets hope, right. he is still puking but usually only 1 or 2 times a day the prevacid she's done better with taking it. But I still feel it's important for her to learn to feed herself and not freak about the feeling of the food. So I think it's still worth taking her to the OT for that since they already know she has sensory stuff she's dealing with.
