These websites list the clay colored stools as a serious side affect of Zantac. I know a few people have mentioned their children having clay colored stools even when not on antibiotics. I didn't know if your children are taking Zantac or not but figured better safe than sorry for you to know.

Renee, mother to Nicholas, born 4/18/08 with silent reflux, moderate laryngomalacia, Sandifer's Syndrome& suspected MSPI. On Neocate, Simply Thick and Prevacid. Also mother to Nathan, born 12/06/06, who had mild reflux the first few months.
|Don't know about clay colored stools, but do know that whitish stools indicate a problem with the liver (possible failure). However, you may see them after a barium swallow and that's ok. Black/tarry ones may indicate internal bleeding. Bright neon green from eating foods with purple dye. We could almost have a poop rainbow!|
