I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
tears of joy!!!
We just got back from Joslyn's GI Doc. We saw him 3 weeks ago and she was only 12 lbs 10 ounces. That is when she was dx'ed as poor weight gain. Then one week later she gained 10 ounces... weighing in at 12 lbs 15 ounces. Well now..... she is 14 lbs!!!!!!!!! She not only gained in weight but also in length! She is 25.5 inches long! Which means she gained over 1 lb in 2 weeks and almost 1.5 inches in 3 weeks!!!!!!! This all from a girl who did not gain in length or weight in one month! She is now in the 10-20% for her weight! no longer in the 3-5%!!!!! I am in such tears right now!! DH and I were so happy to see 14 lbs on the scale!!!!! Her doc said we can go to him in 10 weeks and then if she is still fine then.... then we will not have to schedule anothe rapt unless something happens! OH HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

alex's mom
Alex was dx with silent reflux at 3 weeks old. Previously on Prevacid SoluTabs 15mg daily, now on trial of no medication. Was thought to have oral aversion, saw feeding specialist who says he's just not interested in food--no aversion at all. Slowly coming around to food. 15 months, 19lbs, 7 oz.
I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU! It is so nice to hear that your LO is doing well. I hope she continues!

sharlin, mom to aviah, smith and faye (4/08)-dx with acid reflux (mostly silent) at 6 months.
Looking back I suspect she's been dealing with this for most of her little life. She's tried about every formula in the book and is currently on liquid alimentum, which has really helped a lot with her fighting feedings. We also tried zantac, but she became MUCH worse, and so we've been trying to work on helping her through her diet. she's also taking probiotics, and i'm hoping to get her eating some solids more regularly.
it's good to see good news! i'm just starting this journey (i'm afraid that's what i have to think of it, right? so i'm glad to see when people have improvements.) my little on was born just 3 days after yours. :)

ethan's mom
Meridith, mom to Ethan born 4/23/08. Ethan was diagnosed with reflux at about 1 month. He has been on Zantac (unsuccessful) and Prevacid. He is currently taking 7.5 mg of Prevacid 2x per day, with good results. We also suspect MPI, though this hasn't been confirmed by a doctor yet.
Ethan is mostly breastfed, though we are doing one bottle of soy formula each day. We also do some homeade "solids' including, so far pears, avocado, sweet potato, and peaches.

How exciting! Way to go! I hope this success continues. I guess they all grow in their own time.

I will just have to tell my pedi. that Megan can't read yet so she doesn't know how much she is supposed to grow.

Check with your
doctor first!
