ethan's mom
Meridith, mom to Ethan born 4/23/08. Ethan was diagnosed with reflux at about 1 month. He has been on Zantac (unsuccessful) and Prevacid. He is currently taking 7.5 mg of Prevacid 2x per day, with good results. We also suspect MPI, though this hasn't been confirmed by a doctor yet.
Ethan is mostly breastfed, though we are doing one bottle of soy formula each day. We also do some homeade "solids' including, so far pears, avocado, sweet potato, and peaches.

AARRGG -- this day! OT
I just have to vent about this day, no support necessary. I'm sure that many of you are having a worse day, but nothing seems to be going quite right.

So the second I went back to sleep after Ethan's early morning feeding, about 1.5 hours after he finished eating, he woke up for the day. So tired! Then I am posting on here, and decide to download some new pictures to post on here, and my photo editing software wouldn't open, so I restarted the computer. When it restarted, everything had been wiped away, all of my documents, all of my pictures, music, etc. Nothing looked right. It also wiped away the notes I had been keeping to take to the GI doc on Thursday.

I messed with it a while, but then gave up, and decided to go pick up the pics of Ethan at Sears. Ethan cried a good portion of the way there. We went in and the pictures weren't there! The girls that were running the place had no idea what to do, so I had to wait on the manager who was late. Apparently they had told me the wrong date, and they wouldn't be in until next Monday. They offered me the option to have them printed there, and take them home today. Obviously I was going to say yes, but they waited until I said so to start printing them, so an additional 15 minutes with a fussy kiddo. He cried again on the way home.

When we made it back home, he ate, and I attempted to put him down for a nap, which lasted half an hour. He was smiling at me when I went in, so I put him down in the floor to play. When I picked him up about 15 minutes later, he puked all over me. It smelled sooooo bad, I can still smell it two hours later, even after I have cleaned myself and him up. Poor kid, his tummy must have really been hurting, at least I imagine so.

I'm almost afraid to leave the house to go get my hubby at work, who knows what else could happen!

Okay, I'm done now. Thanks for listening, if you made it this far.

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
sounds like a puky day (in more ways than one!) May you wake up tomorrow with a happier day!

Thanks guys for letting me vent. Other than Ethan's fussiness, the rest of the day went by without incident. So far so good today!
Check with your
doctor first!
