Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
OT-prayer request
I mentioned this down in the update post but I wanted to make sure everyone sees it. I told y'all about my 55ish friend that has throat cancer. They are doing surgery tomorrow to remove the mass. The details that I didn't know are this: there have only been 6 of these surgeries done and they've all been done at MUSC where she is. Just during the last week, the cancer has completely eaten through her esophagus. If they can't close it, they will have to do skin grafts. If they have to do that-her chin will have to be sewn to her neck/chest area. Like sewn down so she's looking down all the time.

If she didn't have the surgery, the drs gave her a month at most. With the surgery SHE HAS 6MOS TO 3YRS!!!

I am just so sad for her and her daughter. She is so close to her family-her dd and grandkids. She has a teenage son! That I had just remembered today. I had kind of forgotten about him.

She and her family firmly believe that her health issues are a result of self-tanning sprays being inhaled. Nobody can confirm that but I just don't doubt it a bit. It's funny bc I always teased her about being such a "sun hog". I'm anti-sun ya know.

Any way, God is in the miracle business and I want everyone to pray that he works one with her!

OH NO! I just got another update! They've cancelled her surgery! The drs at musc aren't confident enough to do it. They are referring her to Boston! Y'all....this is crazy!

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
she has our prayers... how horribly sad

Alex was dx with silent reflux at 3 weeks old. Previously on Prevacid SoluTabs 15mg daily, now on trial of no medication. Was thought to have oral aversion, saw feeding specialist who says he's just not interested in food--no aversion at all. Slowly coming around to food. 15 months, 19lbs, 7 oz.
Our thoughts are with your friend!
