I probably should not post this. coyle has been off of zantac for 10 days now. He has only spit up 5 times in 3 days. those did not bother him. I've not witnessed any silent refluxing but i was gone for 3 of those days. His sleep has not changed at all.. that is sleeps sometimes and does not sleep sometimes (he's a busy body) no mood changes AND he's cutting 3 molars!! 1 is already in. I'm so scared to say it but i think we might be over the hump?? he's not eating so great but he's drinking 18oz + of milk a day plus juice + solids that he likes. he's extremely, extremely picky. what do you all think?

missed ya while i was on vaca! hard to catch up.

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Sounds good! when we tried weaning from zantac, we knew within 3 or 4 days! fingers crossed and prayers your way!

ethan's mom
Meridith, mom to Ethan born 4/23/08. Ethan was diagnosed with reflux at about 1 month. He has been on Zantac (unsuccessful) and Prevacid. He is currently taking 7.5 mg of Prevacid 2x per day, with good results. We also suspect MPI, though this hasn't been confirmed by a doctor yet.
Ethan is mostly breastfed, though we are doing one bottle of soy formula each day. We also do some homeade "solids' including, so far pears, avocado, sweet potato, and peaches.

I think that sounds excellent. May the jinx fairy stay away.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Well, Kelly, that sounds like great news to me! 10 days is a looonnnnngggg time. I mean, I would think you would be over the hump, too - Zantac doesn't stay in the body like a PPI, right? It also sounds like you are coming to terms with the sleeping, too. I think it is probably a phase. He'll settle into something right for him eventually. We are totally on one nap a day, but I am scared to discuss sleep...so I won't. Read into that however you like.

Did I read your text correctly - were you at a scrap and spa? Like scrapbooking? I swear, all the moms on here are so freaking crafty, and I can't even write well in cursive. I hope you had lots of fun, and I hope they served you lots of champagne.

That is VERY promising!! The fact that he's doing so well without the Zantac while teething is good, good news. Hope it continues!

hey everyone! yeah, i think 10 days is a long time too. i'm always anxiously awaiting the doctors visits though so if this continues to go okay and he gains weight by his 15 mo. appt. then i might be able to finally say that it is almost over. he doesnt eat so great so i want to be sure it is not because of the reflux and just because thats him, you know..

yeah, i went for a weekedn away to a scrap and spa for scrapbooking. it was my first time leaving him-EVER! it was so relaxing.. but i did not catch up on sleep. i'm not that crafty.. i "scraplift" all of my designs (use others layouts) and make them my own. i like digital scrapbooking too that risaroo turned me on to.. like this one:
