Renee, mother to Nicholas, born 4/18/08 with silent reflux, moderate laryngomalacia, Sandifer's Syndrome& suspected MSPI. On Neocate, Simply Thick and Prevacid. Also mother to Nathan, born 12/06/06, who had mild reflux the first few months.
First Day in Daycare
Tomorrow will be Nathan's (my 22 month old) first day in daycare. Our first choice of daycare's has an opening for him but not until mid November, so we are starting him at our second choice place tomorrow as dh can't handle both boys all week. Nathan will go Mon, Wed and Fri when I work longer days. I'm not sure who will have a rougher day tomorrow, him or me. I'm already a mess just thinking about it. We've never left him with anyone other than family (and even they were for just a few hours). I know this will be good for him-he needs the stimulation and interaction with other kids. Just dreading it emotionally.

ethan's mom
Meridith, mom to Ethan born 4/23/08. Ethan was diagnosed with reflux at about 1 month. He has been on Zantac (unsuccessful) and Prevacid. He is currently taking 7.5 mg of Prevacid 2x per day, with good results. We also suspect MPI, though this hasn't been confirmed by a doctor yet.
Ethan is mostly breastfed, though we are doing one bottle of soy formula each day. We also do some homeade "solids' including, so far pears, avocado, sweet potato, and peaches.
I'll keep you both in my thoughts tomorrow. I'm sure he will do great!

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Ugh....I can only imagine how you feel. I'm sorry! But maybe he will end up loving it - lots of activities, kids his age, a newspace. Hope it goes well! I am sure he will have fun!

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
I'll be thinking of you. Maggie adjusted much quicker than I thought she would. It'll be you having the bad day probably!

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
I know it's hard, but he'll more than likely love it. When they are Nathan's age, they start doing a lot more activities and he'll enjoy the interaction with the other kids. Your reward will be his face when you come to pick him up :-) Good luck!

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
the first few days will be bad for you. I worked with babies and it was the parents that cried. If the kids did cry...... it was only until mom or dad left the room and then they were laughing! It seemed more like they were putting on a show for the mommies and daddys..... GOOD LUCK!
Check with your
doctor first!
