Update (There needs to be 40 hrs in a day)Long... Sorry.
I just wanted to update while I had internet. We had to rerun our internet to the office but have yet to move the computer and amoire so I am w/o internet right now. I borrowed Mom's laptop b/c she got wireless service and brought it down to our house. It is actually pretty neat and convenient. I think I am going to persuade her to get me one since she got her settlement. (Just hoping)

I have tried to catch up on everyone but I appologize that I did not respond. It is 406 here now and I only got an hour of sleep last night. I hopefully will get on more now but I do pray for you all daily.

First I saw about the gas shortage you all were talking about. Here in Asheville we had no gas what so ever for 3 days. When we did get it you had to wait in line forever and then they would run out. Only the BP or Hess stations had gas which totaled about 6 in the city. The closest stations that did have gas were an hour away. The kids and I sat in line for 6 hrs one night to get gas. I had to have it to take Michael to the doctor or I would have sat at home. It is slowly getting back to normal but they are still running out. We do have some of the highest prices though. It is currently 379-399 a gal. I filled up Wed and it was 147.00 to fill up our expedition. It cost 92 to fill up the truck with a half of tank. The price hurts seeing how Michael has not had a check since Aug. He did get approved for the STD this week so we should be getting a check soon. My Mom has been the lifesaver during his injury.

He had surgery 2 weeks ago on his face. They removed his tonsils and adnoids. They reconstructed his airways that were damaged and crushed when he fell. In all they done 6 different surgeries. He is unable to still eat and is in severe pain. He has lost 32 lbs in 2 weeks. He looks bad. I am not making fun of him but he honestly looks like he is on some major drugs and is so weak. Prayers is how we have made it so far. He should get to go back to work the first week or so of Dec. I will keep you posted.

I am going to start a new post on the babies so that it isn't so long. Carla

My name is being used fraudently to ill represent me. Please be cautious of any information you receive with my name. including,,, anything from anyone claiming to be Engi Nowaira online. Otherwise, I will be representing myself in person so that everyone will have opportunity to identify me in person.
My previous drivers license was also stolen. The new one has extra security features on it.
May God bless u and keep your family

I am sorry that your family has had such a tough time. I do keep you in my prayer and think of you often. I am so thankful that your mom has been there for you during this time of need.

I am sorry that you are still having trouble getting gas there. Our lack of gas has finally resolved. At some point the price was $4.25 a gallon. Thankfully it is $3.45 a gallon right now.

I hope Michael heals quickly and is able to return to work in December. I think it would be great for mental and emotional health along with financial health. When my DH was out of work for 1 year it was depressing to him.

Wishing u the very best.

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
Sorry about all your troubles (again). I would have killed to pay that for gas...try living 30 minutes from Chicago and paying close to $5/gal. Ours is finally down under $4. I have a Hummer and it never cost me over $90 to fill up, even with our gas sounds like there was something wrong if you paid $147.00 (for a 30 gallon tank, that would be $4.90/gal). Anyway, I am glad that your dh got the surgeries he needed.

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
Glad to hear that Michael got approved for the short term disability - that's got to be a relief. Hopefully he'll start feeling better soon - I've heard that surgery is tougher on adults than it is on kids. Those gas prices are killer - they are finally coming down here, thank goodness.

Melissa send the prices that low to us here. Tonight on my way home I saw a store that had dropped to 358 but that is the lowest. They are pushing to reduce the tax here. I can't remember but I think they said only 2 other states had higher taxes on gas than us and it was Hawaii and Alaska. They need to do something.

Danie when I filled up that day our gas had reached 478 a gal. I filled up our car which was below E (Michael fusses at me constantly for running it so empty) and a 5 gal gas can. I wasn't going to be caught again like that with no gas. Our tank is between a 25 and 30 gal. My sister who has a 04 expedition instead of a 05 only has a 20 gal tank. I flipped when they got it last week and her first fill up was only 76. I had her prepared for this big bill and then it was that amount. I was so ill. LOL

I can not ever remember any thing like this gas shortage happening. The stores are saying that our newest shortage is b/c our tankers are being sent to Charlotte instead of here b/c of their shortage. All it is doing is sending a ripple effect from there to here and vice versa. During the shortage 2 weeks ago the government shut 6 stations here down b/c they were price gouging. They raised their prices to 549 a gal just b/c they had gas. Needless to say they were unable to sell gas until just yesterday.
