Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Ding dang it- ON TOPIC
This is my "cuss word". Maggie heard me say it the other day and started saying it-at church of course. LOL

Y'all are my expert peeps. I've noticed for several days that Mags is burping and sometimes doing the gulp thing. Not really that often, but enough that I've noticed. the other night she cried out and then woke at 645...both weird for her. Her eczema is usually contained to the insoles of her feet (weird huh), but today I noticed some on her legs and lightly on her face. She has been super cranky.

There is a good chance that teething is causing a flare. I just wanted to see what y'all think. I keep wondering to myself is she gonna pop up with full blown reflux again one day.

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
Halley's has been flaring as well and her molars just popped through yesterday. Hopefully it's *just* that for Mags.

I bet it is. I wonder what about the eczema though. Morgan's has never bothered her except in winter...why does Maggie's hang on all the time. Hers doesn't even go away with steroid cream.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Her eczema could be caused by something random in the environment...I am pretty sure that most is, anyway. I know that my brother's lasts year round, and so does my niece's - but the eczema I get on my hands only appears in the winter. I REALLY hope that is not reflux again for MAgs...porbably just teething like you and Donnessa said. Have you tried mixing cortizone with Aquaphor and slathering it on her eczema, then putting socks on her?

I haven't tried putting socks on...the last time I let her run around with socks-we wound up with a tongue bit that was ferocious! I could do that at bedtime. I use aquaphor mixed with elidel (steroid we use for Morgan). It calms it but then it comes right back. It never goes away. Morgan's will go away at least for a while before it comes back. I need to take pics and see if y'all think it's eczema.

My previous drivers license was also stolen. The new one has extra security features on it.
You would have to check with Pedi. for this one as it is not kid approved, but Eucerin works like a charm for me. My ezema only gets worse with some of the other lotions.

Has she started eating anything new lately?

Thanks! When I get the cream, I either get eucerin or aquaphor. Either one seems to work. The magic thing for Morgan was a mix of rx hydrocortisone, eucerin, and carmol 10 lotion. We stopped doing it a long time ago. Her's got better. It just flares in the winter behind her knees. We'll see how Maggie's does in the winter.

Renee, mother to Nicholas, born 4/18/08 with silent reflux, moderate laryngomalacia, Sandifer's Syndrome& suspected MSPI. On Neocate, Simply Thick and Prevacid. Also mother to Nathan, born 12/06/06, who had mild reflux the first few months.
Nicholas's eczema goes away with aquaphor and cortisone, but always comes right back when we stop. Our pedi said 2 weeks on cortisone, two weeks off. We are to start solids next week and they said to discontinue anything that makes the eczema flare, but I don't know how we'd tell when it's almost always there and all over!!! Not sure what else to do as he's just on the neocate now. Everyone seemed to think that once we got him on that the eczema would go away but no such luck. I have also recently switched to free and clear detergent (was using Dreft) to see if this will help.
Check with your
doctor first!
