Why won't Aubrey's diarrhea
UGH! Aubrey has been off her antibiotics for a week now and she still has diarrhea. This morning her diarrhea was a maroon color. I give her probiotics every night as well. She has yogurt from time to time but it is goat's milk yogurt. She has a GI checkup on the 30th. What should I do???

katiesmommy
Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!
Katie is on Amoxocillian (sp?) and the paperwork says she can have diarrhea for a few weeks afterward. Have you tried the BRATT diet? Bananas, rice, apples, tea and toast? I know that reflxers can't always tolerate everything in it but bananas and rice are really good binders! Oh, and I would call the dr. just to make sure that they are aware of this and to make sure she is ok. HUGS!

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
I hate that! We usually had problems with Halley's diarrhea for a week afterward (along with bad diaper rashes), then it would start getting better. Can she have bananas or cheese (can't remember if she can have that) or something to help firm her up a little?

She ate bananas for 2 days and then refluxed horribly and refused them until today she ate 1. She can't have cheese either. I have tried carrots... Boy does she stink! Anyone who is around her is amazed at how bad it is-trust me I know it shouldn't be good.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Well, I can't keep my kid regular no matter what, so I am going to be of no help here. I agree with Melissa and say call the ped!

2 healthy daughters (knock wood) Cory (16), Kim (11) & Eric (4) diagnosed with e.e. (scoped 8/08), GERD & severe food/seasonal allergies, asthma. Cried non-stop first 17 mths. of life Found out he is allergic to cow's milk, soy, eggs, and peanuts. Takes Prevacid, Neocate One Plus & Flovent.
My 9 yr.-old recently threw up after eating goat's cheese at her g'moms. This was something new for her, though. She has always had issues with cow's milk (mostly constipation), so I wonder if it's connected. Just a thought. El
