I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
i will have to retype here: HOLY CRAP! Joslyn just hit 12 lbs 3 last week! She is almost 6 months! Was he vbirth or csection? HOLY CRAP! He is a handsome little boy! All of your kids are so darn cute!

Yep vaginal, no epidural, didnt plan it that way though lol..I was just posting about this the other day somewhere else lol..Ill paste it. If I would have actually known how big he was, he would never had come out of THERE lol. An ultrasound right before birth showed him to be 10 lbs 4 oz( and I measured 48 weeks at 39 weeks lol, that is what prompted the ultrasound), so I figured he was 9 or 10 pounds, which I thought I could do, so I declined the c section my OB was discussing with me, and he was comfortable with delivering a large baby, since I had already delivered a 9 lb baby.. If I would have known he was THAT BIG, I would have had the c section, for his own safety. The delivery was actually very scary. I couldnt get an epidural because even after an hour of trying, they could not get it in due to my spine being so curved it was going into nerves, now we know that carrying him screwed up my back. So that was terrifying in itself lol. Then after a LOOOOOOONNNGG painful labor, my OB really started freaking me out telling the nurses to prepare for a delivery of a very large baby, setting up a stool and all kinds of stuff, and he started cutting the episiotomy. His head finally came out, and my DH and OB at the same time exclaimed"oh my god" so of course, they scared me half to death as I thought something was wrong. I cried "whats wrong" and they said "he is huge!!" He started extending the episiotomy even more all the way through OWWWW, and he could not get Brent out, he was STUCK. He got up on the stool and had the nurse pushing my stomach and he was pulling and twisting my baby very hard, I was terrified he was going to be hurt, I mean he was STUCK BAD, everyone in the room was freaking out. Finally the doctor got him out and everyone in the room was shocked at the size of him lol. I t was scary. Hey Jessica! Brent hasnt really grown any in a long time, is still down 2 lbs since feb. and losing, but he is looking so big boyish in his face, especially since I cut his hair. And he is talking up a storm!!!! How is cutie pie Jedd? Thanks sooo much everyone!!!! :) I like showing off my babies:)

Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
My God - if Sebastian had been 12 pounds at birth, I would still be pregnant now because there would be no freaking way I would allow him to come out. I thought I was going to pass out with 7 lbs/7oz, and I couldn't even feel anything.

Your family is beautiful!! Wait- I just read you had a vaginal birth. I hurt just typing.

Thanks for sharing all the pics!

My crotch still hurts.

I am sorry he has not bounced back yet in the weight dept. It is such a struggle. I hopee he starts on the upswing soon. HUGS

Jedd's doing pretty well. I *think* he is gaining. the last time I thought that he had lost 3/4 of a pound soo.....he ahs gotten taller though I know because I can measure him on the wall and see it. LOL We see th epedi at the end of the month for our 2 yr. check up and then I am going to discus feeding clincis with her.

Our local feeding/rehab center doesn't want us to go to one. They want us to do it all at home. but there is only so much a Mother can take in that kid of stress dept...KWIM....we have tried everything and are just stuck and can't get him to accept any type of solids. He will on ly take liquids and puresss....so, we'll see what she says.
