GI change
We have just been informed that Emily's main Dr is leaving the practice for a little while. She has been put on strict bed rest b/c she is pregnant! I hope everything goes well for her. she had told me that she and her husband had been trying for a looong time, so i guess this one stuck!

well this means that emily gets piled on to the, just as caring but much more busy, other dr. i really adore him but i hate his nurse.

i got a lecture today about how i should have completed the stool samples that were ordered months ago. Then, as bored as she could possibly sound, she recited clinical reasons why i should do a PH probe and DGE test and cut me off when i voiced my concerns. She interrupted me with an appointment b/c Dr decided he wants to see emi and talk with me. in the mean time she told me to try mylanta gas. i can't seem to find this product anywhere though.

I think some medical professionals just think it's their way or the highway and don't care what mommy thinks!

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Nurses are something that the world just couldn't do without and the good ones are great! My bf is a nurse....but then there's the ones that just need to stay home or go work at McDonald's. They have no compassion.

My previous drivers license was also stolen. The new one has extra security features on it.
I totally agree that some docs. think it is their way or the highway. We have had someone call a social worker when Meggy was in the hospital because we were refusing to do another PH probe that wasn't warranted and couldn't have told us anything new.

DH and I agreed that it didn't make sense and we were not putting her through the torture again without reason.

Please be careful with the mylanta gas. The docs here never say anything about it, but some have not sure what the name of it was, I think siliciates or close to that. It can cause rye syndrome. Our pharmacist told us.

Wishing you the very best with your DD.

We ended up switching GI's last December when Meggy's GI went on vacation. She urgently needed to see a GI. All of the other docs in the pratice refused to see her saying she was too complicated. She ended up back in the hospital.

Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!

Mylanta original extra strenght has an anti gas in it.

Hugs regarding the nurse!

Check with your
doctor first!
