Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Perspective
I apologize in advance. I know I've been coming around a lot lately with sad-negative stuff. I just have no other mommy friends to share this stuff with.

I went out to eat with an old friend tonight. We see each other just a few times a year. We spent the first hour of our time crying. I told her about my friend who lost her husband and we were discussing that. She filled me in on these things: Her cousin found out that their 5mo baby has a muscular atrophy disease and her life expectancy is 2 years. WOW! The same week she found out that her acquaintance woke up and found her 22month old baby dead in it's crib.

Nothing more to say...just "PERSPECTIVE".

I've just had so many stories around me lately that it has really made me think. You can not take life for granted. Not your own, not your child's, nobody's. My dh and I have been discussing the fact that he needs to stop leaving Morgan and Mags outside alone. He just doesn't get it. Just this weekend, a set of siblings 2 & 3 yo drowned in a pool here in our town. We don't have a pool but it could just as easily be Mags running into the road. Morgan thinks nothing of taking her to the flower bed beside the road. HE JUST NEEDS TO REALIZE THAT SHE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO BE LEFT IN CHARGE. It truly scares me.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
How awful. I can't even imagine. No one should have to suffer through that.

There are these three little boys (one is four and two are around age six) in my court that race around on their bikes in the street all the time...with no parental supervision. We are always terrified one of them is going to get flattened by one of the cars that drives way too quickly around here. ON Sunday, one fell out of a tree onto his HEAD, and his mother wasn't even home. NO clue who was supposed to be watching him. My husband went out to assist (we saw him through our kitchen window). Yesterday, same kid in the same tree. Makes me sad.

Yep, Sat. night in Charleston, 4 boys flew off the sidewalk right into the street on their bicycles. No helmets...one boy had a smaller boy on the bike with him. They were making siren noises and just weaving in and out of traffic. It amazes me...
Check with your
doctor first!
