Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!
follow up to "what the heck"
I pushed for over 3 hours! What is it with 2 hours of labor and 5 minutes of pushing! I want the anestiegist (or however you spell it) who had to wake up someone (can't remember who) so that they could push! I also forgot to add that my blood pressure dropped to 88/55 and Katie had to have internal monitoring or they were going to do C section. If I had a 2 hour labor we would already be pregnant again ; that and if my child would eat w/o fighting and not be crabby so that the idea of another child didn't send us to separate ends of the house. :)

Jennifer - 1st time mom. Lauren (6/1/07) diagnosed 9/07 with GER at 3 1/2 months. Prevacid 7.5 mg in the am. Currently drinking whole milk and eating great!!
No longer aspirating! Yippee!
Picture: Why would Lauren play with the hundreds of dollars worth of toys scattered in my living room?!?! When she could play in a box! Estimated move date: Oct. 3rd!
I labored at home for 3 LONG DAYS, but my contractions would never get regular/close enough to go the hospital (we went once and were sent back home) -- all back labor. Finally at a week overdue I begged to be induced because I was exhausted from not sleeping for three nights. Oh yes, the last week I was pregnant I lost my mucous plug -- so just this nasty snot like substance ozzing out constantly, probably TMI, but it just added to the fun. When I finally got my pitocin it took my about 6 hours to dilate fully and I pushrd for 15-20 minutes and Lauren was out. I figured after all the pain I went through for 4 days a short pushing time was my reward?? :)

Mary & Nicholas 7-17-03 (non-refluxer)allergies, asthma on Singulair and Flovent & Aidan 1-28-07(my refluxer)Nissen Fundoplication on June 20, 2008, FTT, MSPI, DGE, ear tubes, allergies and severe GERD now currently taking just Prevacid and drinking Elecare Vanilla 1+.
I feel your pain. I labored for 25 hours with my first and pushed for 3 hours when they finally declared he was stuck and vacuumed him out. I seriously had a horrible episiotomy too that hurt for months. That and having a sick child made me never want to have children again. But after a few more years you may change your mind. And you never know your next one might be a piece of cake. My second child I labored for less then an hour and pushed for 15 minutes probably could have pushed for less but we were waiting for the OB to arrive who was in an emergency c-section. I swore I would never labor again without an epidural but when you go from 3cm-10cm in 45 minutes you don't really get the option to have one. Give it enough time and all the bad memories seem to fade some.

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
I was induced with both girls. Morgan was 2wks over and Mags was on her due date. Morgan was born 9 hrs after induction and Mags was born 4 hrs after induction. Literally when they broke my water, I started pushing almost immediately.

Maggie had some trouble when I had contractions but they gave me something in iv and she did fine.

I second the fact that if Maggie had been my first, there'd be no 2nd!!!

Audrey Meadow 06/20/08. born 34/35 weeks. Still b/f and eats everything! ftt and chronic constipation.
lol with emily i went into labor at 11pm was in labor for 5 hours pushed for 50 mins and there she was. So it was pretty easy well that and i don't remember one bit of it b/c of Staidol, HORRIBLE drug. With audrey i also went into labor at 11pm I was 5 cm when i got to the hospital so i figured by 1pm i would have a baby... NO! 8 freakin hours later the dr (my midwife was out of town) decides instead of breaking my water he will do a couple of c sections so i have to breath through the urge to push for what seemed like hours and he finally shows up, breaks my water and audrey slid out so fast i screamed bloody murder, all natural HURTS! So first baby, 6 hours. second 9hours. i thought it was supposed to get faster the more kids you had LOL And after Emily there was going to be NO MORE KIDS EVER. but then came Audrey and she is the sweetest easiest little girl ever. so no separate ends of the house for us on this one lol
