This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
Ot - about my nickname
Just to clear things up, as people ask me this pretty frequently, the nickname has nothing to do with weight loss or the nutrition shakes. I earned this nickname when I was 13 - I ran track for more years than I care to remember, and I was skinny and fast, hence the moniker.

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
Hey thanks! I always wondered if you were a slimfastee. I myself have tried it many times and always failed.

Wehn I was littel my Mom used to pull ALL fo my hair up on top o fmy head. It stuck STRAIGHT up......all of it. My Dad took to calling me Onion because it looked like the onion patches you get that grow up in your yard in the summertime.

the name stuck and at 31 years old I will STILL answer to Onion when my Dad calls me it....

Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!

Thanks Slimfast for clearing that up!!

Juli...you are hysterical!! I thought I was the only one who remembered random movie and tv lines!

Jessica, we call that pineapple top head around here. It is my absolute favorite way to do Katie's head. I love doing two of them but she won't sit still very long so I have to skip it sometimes.

Jennifer - 1st time mom. Lauren (6/1/07) diagnosed 9/07 with GER at 3 1/2 months. Prevacid 7.5 mg in the am. Currently drinking whole milk and eating great!!
No longer aspirating! Yippee!
Picture: Why would Lauren play with the hundreds of dollars worth of toys scattered in my living room?!?! When she could play in a box! Estimated move date: Oct. 3rd!
How funny! I always just thought of the shakes too!

Jessica, my first thought about Onion was from the Shrek movie too!

My nickname is "Rosy" - red hair/red cheeks. My mom still says, "morning Rosy" when she see me early in the day. I find myself calling Lauren that too sometimes :)

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
I heard the hair called a "water spout". My most used nickname is "chic-e" by dh. I can't remember exactly where it came from. It has been running since we were "just friends".

I did wonder about the slimfast thing....I did that diet once and did other stuff at the same time. I lost 20lbs! Wish I could do it now!

Check with your
doctor first!
