Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!
Sharon-Elyse's Mom

Here is Katie at 5 months weighing 16 lbs. She has only gained a pound since then.

See, i knew she was chunky at some point....she has those little rolls on her arms and a nice belly on her. elyse had issues in the beginning with weight gain/loss, but for many months now she has gained slowly and steadily. On her chart at the pedi's now she stays pretty much the same percentile every visit. She was probably 16 lbs at about 10 months (8 adjusted). When we first saw her current pedi she was 4 mos old and at the 3rd percentile; now she is between the 25th and 50th!

She was chunky; now she is in the 6th percentile. She has no tummy and we can sometimes see her ribs. The only thing we can think of is she digested bm so much better than even Elecare. She started wearing 9 mos. clothes at 6 mos and at 11 is still in the same clothes. The bright side is it saves money since she isn't outgrowing them! :P

Picture: This is what happens when you raise a kid on health food and they get ahold of a Coke! Bad mom, that soda is NOT on the reflux diet.
UPDATE: Isaiah is now 12 and off meds! He is doing great, eating again and hopefully will be catching up in the growing department. I am still in the "hoping it sticks" phase, but we're so happy that he's better!
Darling photo! She's a cutie, for sure. I hear you about the weight drop...my middle baby was a chunky monkey until the months between her 9 and 12 month visits. She dropped off the charts! I think it was adding solids, she bf'd until she was 2 but we finally added solid foods at around 9 months, and at that point she became a fussy baby who vomited often. Her dr. was totally unhelpful about the vomiting and fussiness so we switched dr.'s and her charts took forever to show up, so no one took me seriously that she had stopped growing. Turned out to be reflux, but we didn't know until a year later! In the meantime she was about 5-10 % below the charts until age 3 or so. She was 16 lbs at 1 year! However, she did outgrow the reflux at around 3 yrs old and is now nearly average in height and weight (she's 9)...so there's hope yet. I remember she was wearing the same clothes she had at 9 months, for what seemed like forever...the pants became capris, but they still fit fine around the waste. Sigh.

WEll, the drs look at her legs which have meat on them and she looks fine but she has no tummy at all and at times her ribs show. It's funny but shorts and pants that aren't really elastic waist just fall off of her esp. since she commando crawls! She looks like a teenage boy who needs to pull up his pants! :)

Thanks for the compliments on my once chubby monkey!

In march, i bought Elyse a ton of summer clothes in 18 month size because I figured by the end of the summer she would need that size (because I figured "18 month" meant 12-18 months, am I right?) Well, they will fit her next year I am pretty sure. She spent all summer in huge clothes, luckily we had a bunch of 12 mo size hand me downs. I have been buying clearance summer clothes for next summer in 24 month size hoping that it will be appropriate by then while thinking WTH am I doing ??? But it is hard to pass up a cute pair of shorts that are $2!

She does still fit in many 9 mo shorts, skirts, and pants (that look like capris) but her head is huge and she has a belly so she wears 12 and 18 mo shirts in order to fit the head. my girl is 31 inches tall at 14 months adjusted age!!!
