Audrey Meadow 06/20/08. born 34/35 weeks. Still b/f and eats everything! ftt and chronic constipation.
no rest for the weary...
i am close to tears, no, strike that i am in tears... We went to the pedi yesterday to follow up on Emily's Double ear infection and suspected UTI. and he did a ear pressure test and looked in her ears and there was NOTHING not even a sign of infection, he said antbx would not clear up an ear infection that quick. If it was a UTI the antbx would have cleared the pain already. Meanwhile i was exhausted b/c she was up that night till 4 am screaming. WTF, SERIOUSLY!!!! Drive an hour all the way down there to get a phantom ear infection diagnosis!!

She is NOT teething the pedi said she has all of her 2 year molars. he says she has SEPARATION ANXIETY! If that's it isn't the kid supposed to STOP screaming when they see you then??? She has been in her own bed room for over 3 months and she has been doing this up all night screaming thing for about 2 weeks, in my opinion it is not separation anxiety.

chris's grandma stayed the night with us last night. She doubted emilys stomach problems and reflux from the day she was born. she is big on child discipline and all about telling people how they should do things. Emily was up until 5 am screaming last night, off and on and his grandma said she felt SORRY for me. no condescending tips or patronizing remarks on how i should learn to control her better but actual pity. she was saying she dosen't know how i can do this multiple nights in a row..

i don't know what is wrong i don't even know if there is anything wrong anymore. i feel like there is but i don't even know which way is up anymore i am so tired. I called the GI but i am sure they will say something about the PH probe or milk scan, which i DON'T want to do. I just don't know what they can do for us when the pedi said she is fine.... i am just so sad...

Our 1 year old daughter has silent reflux, hypotonia as well as benign external hydrocephalus. We are currently weaning onto whole milk (we'll see if it works) and she is also on Prevacid 15mg per day.
Hmmm when I took Keira to rule out an ear infection they said she didn't have one and that she couldn't possibly be teething at 3 months of age and that they think she's just "fussy" and wants her mommy. The next day she had her two bottom teeth. I wanted to take a pic and say "How's THIS for no teeth at three months?!?" They don't know everything and I think sometimes when they can't find something they just start listing off other things it *could* be. I was thinking sep anxiety goes from like 9-18 months? I could be wrong. I'm sorry I don't know what it could be either. :( I don't know how ya do it! Especially with two! ;) You're one tough Mommy! HUGS TO YOU. I sure hope that things get better soon and I hope maybe now his side of the family will see that this is nothing to minimize. My inlaws have the same kind of mentality. They should have stayed w/ me when Keira was at her worst. But I'm glad they never did as she needed love that only we know how to give. ;)

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
I am so sorry Kat. I really don't even know what to say, except that it seems there is something going on BESIDES separation anxiety. Please keep us posted...I really hope you can get some rest.

Mary & Nicholas 7-17-03 (non-refluxer)allergies, asthma on Singulair and Flovent & Aidan 1-28-07(my refluxer)Nissen Fundoplication on June 20, 2008, FTT, MSPI, DGE, ear tubes, allergies and severe GERD now currently taking just Prevacid and drinking Elecare Vanilla 1+.
I'm so sorry you are still having issues. BIG HUGS! I have been at my breaking point and beyond this week too. I just wanted to say it is possible that they saw fluid and redness at Urgent care and diagnosed ear infection and it was viral and not really bacteria causing the fluid and that could be gone by now. It happens and some doctors know more about infections then others. So don't feel bad. Is it possible the antis are making her reflux worse? I hope you can get some rest and a break today. It is exhausting having sick kids all the time. If it makes you feel any better we are having the same issues with Aidan and I know it isn't teeth. I constantly debate in my head if I should stop going to him while he is screaming all night long because I have just created this horrible habit but I always end up going to him because deep down I know he is in pain. Sorry I am not much help. I just wanted to let you know you aren't alone!

Ugh, how frustrating! It must be SOMETHING, and I doubt it is separation anxiety...she would tire herself out from crying at some point if there was nothing else going on, IMO. Glad your inlaw is giving you some sympathy. Our family members never truly understood what we went thru in the beginning with Elyse until they saw it firsthand...when we said exorcist vomiting, WE MEANT IT!

Why don't you want to do the tests? Just don't think they will give any new info?

Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!
Hugs!! Thats all I can give!
