I'M DONE!!!!
Done, just done. I am ready to leave Emily on the side of a road at a rest stop or something!!!! OKAY i understand she may not be feeling well, but why does she have to be so mean and crabby! EVERYTHING pisses her off, EVERYTHING.

She woke up at 12:30pm this afternoon after going to bed at 10:30pm last night. The night before she went to bed at 5AM SUNDAY MORNING. And now i just had to put her in her crib screaming at the top of her lungs cause she couldn't get a hold of herself. She is quiet now so maybe she is sleeping?

She has had a low grade fever come and go (nothing over 101) Could teething really be this bad?!!?

Also she woke up this morning and her face was kind of dusky and her lips were a little blue why would her lips be blue? this really worries me...

ugh i'm sorry that was a little over the top i really should have calmed down before i wrote that... i was upset b/c i couldn't get the pedi on the phone. i called their allergy clinic and they said that the pedi was super busy.

Dh just called and said he's leaving work right now to come home so we can take emily to pediatric urgent care an hour away. this car ride should be fun... If there is nothing wrong with her and they tell me teething i swear i will jump off a bridge or maybe hop a plane to mexico, something!

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
Girl, don't apologize! We've all been there and you definitely have the right to be a little "over the top" as you say.

Let us know what they say. I would be pretty scared too. I don't think teething would be that bad. Mely has had some rough times with Amalia, but I don't know if they were that bad. Hugs!

So sorry for such a rough spot in the road (doesn't quite describe it, but now sure the right phrase). Those times do get to us sometimes. I think it is totally understandable.
Worst part I think is the not knowing. I hope everything turns out alright.
While I think teething does cause a lot of pain, I think doctors say teething syndrome more often than it is really the case.
Hope she feels better soon. Please keep us updated.

oh Sweetie, HUGS. IMHO, you HAVE to get her checked out. Attitude is one thing, but your description to me indicates she is in pain. I don't think teething would be this bad. Before Rory got sick, we were asking ourselves *could it be teething cause the fever and whining?* You know your baby, you know if this is teething....Rory never had fever with teething ever, which is why I took her to the ER the first time to get the viral dx. Blue lips, not sleeping until 5 am, screaming, irritability......I look at it this way (and YES I am over the top a lot of the time), but it is ALWAYS better to be safe than sorry. ALWAYS. My appendix burst at 11 months of age, and my mother took me to the ER 3 times in a week before they realized it. I guess it's really rare for that to happen....my point is, if YOU and DH are worried, definitely make the trip. You know our dh's are pretty similar....if Mike is worried, I'm DEFINITELY worried, kwim? ;) Let us know how you are doing, k? HUGE HUGS

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Was she feeling very cold by any chance? I ask that because my lips and fingernails turn blue when I am cold...always have...it used to freak my mom out when I was little. I know that's probably a stretch (especially since it hasn't happened before...).

I am really sorry Sebastian is sending her subliminal messages to be a butt. I fantasize about storing him on the deck while I take a nap fairly regularly these days (well, he has more leeway now that I know he is sick...).

Keep us posted, PLEASE.

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
Oh Kat, I hope they can figure out what is bugging her. I always feel so much better after venting on here. We are all human...dealing with the not so "average" child. Please let us know how it goes. I am thinking of you girl, hang in there.

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
I agree with everyone else - this is a safe place for you to come to vent. You certainly have earned it after what you've been through lately. I'm glad that you're taking her to the doctor today - hopefully they will have some answers. Halley's lips turn blue when she's cold - totally freaks me out. If Emi wasn't cold and you were seeing the blue color, then it is something you'll want to get checked out (as you know).

Trust your instincts - if you think it's more than teething, then it probably is...keep pushing until you get your answer. Just like the CSID - you knew something was wrong and you didn't give up. Sending prayers and hugs your way.

Vent, please vent. At least I'm not the only one who has thoughts like that. I must admit, that I have those thoughts less now that I am back at work as I have time away, but I had them when home full time and just this morning, dh who is now home with both babies referred to Nicholas as "this thing". I was really po'd until I remembered some of the times I was really frustrated with him because he was so miserable. You aren't alone. We all love our kids, but we are human too. :) Let us know how the visit with MD goes.

I feel that way almost everyday even when my kids are feeling good so I definitely know the feeling when they aren't. I hope the urgent care was worth the drive and they are able to help you out. Aidan gets blue lips when he is cold too but he also got blue lips when he was having ALTEs(acute life threatening episodes). Please update when you can.
