katiesmommy
Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!
Katie seems to be feeling better but the PND is horrible! She has thrown it up a few times which is good; today it was on daddy! I guess it was the first time she has thrown up on him cause he stood there waiting for me to get a towel to wipe him and the floor up!

Quinn is still battling something respiratory. I feel sort of bad for her. It's going on week three of fevers that come and go every few days. Of course, her spirits are high. as always. She never ever gives any indication that she is not feeling well or anything, but she has been waking up multiple times a night coughing, wheezing and crying for me. She wakes every morning with gunk and croup. And she is coughing all day long. Our follow up pulmonary appointment is coming soon. Hopefully he can give us some insight as to what is going on with her breathing. -Sarah

Rory is doing GREAT! She is sleeping all night, which I think has helped to kick those blisters. They are all dried up now. The best surprise is that she is starving and willing to eat. She is eating baby cereal, baby yogurt, drinking milk with Quick from a straw, Nesquick Cereal & Cheerios, banana, peas & carrots, bread & butter, soup, popsicles. She's actually eating better than before, which is good. She has her 18 month check on Wednesday so we'll get a weight on her. She probably lost more than a pound. Her spirits are great, but she cries much more easily than before. As much as I don't want to, I will be transitioning her at daycare tomorrow, and giving work a shot. I can always quit if she gets ill again. This virus scared me because she did not have vomiting and diahrrea and still lost so much....hopefully she'll stay well and not pick up anything from daycare!!

daniejo
Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
Nate is much better. He goes for his 18 month check tomorrow. I am worried about Adam now tho. The HFM disease is going around at his school, we just got a note about it on friday. The 2 kids with it were in his class. He is complaining of an itchy throat...says it's not "hurting" but it itches. I can see red bumps back there in his mouth, are these blisters?? I am gonna make a post about it. He has an appt with the ped for his 5 year tomorrow. Glad most lo's are feeling better :)

I only have a few minutes, but Aubrey is doing much better. She is eating like a champ and playfull. She cried on and off through the night again (last time she did this she had high fever) but we don't know what was wrong. Glad the round of the sickies are gone! Ds is really congested again and coughing. I don't know that we have kicked his yet. But he is ready to party this afternoon.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Arrggghhh...I'm not happy about posting here!!!

Sebastian has been super Captain Crankypants lately...and his sleep is even worse than usual. But yesterday morning, something magical happened: he went down easily for his a.m. and stayed asleep for a full two hours. Now, this was so incredibly magical that I grew alarmed. I watched him carefully yesterday and then guided him through another particularly crappy night. I saw him pulling his hair HARD many times throughout the day, and I thought this was strange because he has been a hairy bigfoot since birth, so it was not like he was just discovering it. Today, though,I was holding him in my lap and reading him a story when I noticed that he had about 500 times the usual amount of gunk basically falling out of his ears...and it looked red. So I scooped a little out (from the outside...I didn't reach into his ear) and yes, BLOOD. I was hoping he had just been scratching his ears, but I didn't have a good feeling.

I called the ped on call and realized that the one doc who doesn't take us seriously was on call, so we went to Nighttime Pediatrics (they are actually quite good...this was our fifth visit - AND they take appointments!!). Turns out little man has a double ear infection. Poor guy. It never ends. Tubes were mentioned because he gets so many sinus infections and this is ear infection #4. :(

Hope all the sickies on here feel better ASAP. I feel so bad for allt hese kids.
