Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
Well, add us to the ear tube list
I had that mommy instinct last night. I thought Nate was just being clingy the past few days with school starting. I went to put in the ear pain drops and when I got near his right ear, he cried and pushed my hand away. He was up at 12am, 1am, 3am, 5am and 7am. I took him right to urgent care this morning...I told the dr the diagnosis when she first came in the room. She was LOL...I told her I would be leaving here with an RX for Omnicef to clear up an infection in his RIGHT ear. I hate it when I'm right, I really do.

She said to talk to our ped at his 18 month check next week about seeing an ENT. I already made the appt with him (same one who did Adam's tubes) I am hoping dh will have our insurance thru his new job by that time...we pay 100% for EVERYTHING right now which really SUCKS!!

Sorry to blab, I am just so tired today. I couldn't even take Adam to school b/c it is raining so hard here and Nate fell asleep...I couldn't wake him up. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Maggie is now 3 years old and reflux free (knock on wood). I still check in some to see how everybody is doing :) Hugs to all!
I'm so sorry Danie. I guess they'll be going through it together. You kind of knew this was coming, right....that pie sure looked yummy. What was behind the pie? Was that another pie? Did you get my message about the picture? LOL

Hey Danie
I'm sorry that Nate has another ear infection. I definitely hope your DH's insurance kicks in before you do the ear tubes. We just did a round of Omnicef for an ear infection and my kid already has tubes. So it definitely never ends. I hope you and Nate get some rest and feel better soon.

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
It is so exhausting dealing with sick babies. I do hope you get some relief soon. Prayers for hubby's insurance to kick in.

Hopefully insurance kicks in fast. I'm sorry you have to go through this. But you are so intune with him that you were able to figure out what was wrong w/o it lasting days. I hate being right about those things too. Shhhh don't tell my husband that I hate being right~Well he'd never believe you:) LOL!

Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!
Hope he feels better and that insurance will pay!!
