This is our dd, Alessandra. Dx with GER 10/07. Ran the gamut with meds and now done with them (crossed fingers). Using magnesium, probiotics and prebiotic supplements. With the exception of teething and general sassy attitude, all is well now. They really CAN grow out of it!
amber fMy grandfather had esophageal stricture, as does my aunt and I think my mom does too, though she refuses to go to any MD anymore (OT and irrelevant anyway). There area few things that it could be - esophageal spasm, stenosis (narrowing) of the esophagus, etc. It doesn't happen all the time, but there always seems to be a trigger. You mentioned pasta, bread, and meat - all of which my fmaily members have a problem with. I'd definitely get it checked out - they can stretch it if it's stenosis, though it's often a temporary fix. I think my grandfather was and aunt is on meds for relaxing the esoph. as well. HTH!
