Adriane & Morgan's allergist appt
So, we went to the allergist yesterday. They told me that they couldn't get them in at the same time but could do the same day and that she would go ahead and do their appointments at the same time anyway. I thought was great! (I scheduled these over a month ago and this was the best they could do. Not to mention that I had to go to their office that is an additional 20-25 mins away from us instead of just a half hour drive it was more like an hour.) A's appt was scheduled for 9AM. So, they checked her in. I told them what the nurse had said when we scheduled the appt. about seeing them at the same time and they took a $50 copay, enough for both girls. Then when we went back the nurse said that they had not checked morgan in so we had to go do that and then do weight and height check on her instead of at the same time. So, frustrating. Then the doc came in and raved about how much better A looks without food. Which is true. She went through everything again and then outlined when and what we could introduce first. For some reason she wants us to start with stuff that is a two or less on her allergy test. Why not start her with peas or green beans. Something that we know she shouldn't react too. Why give her something that she could. Then we waited almost an entire hour before she came back for MOrgan. She made me sit in a room, without toys. Well, there was one for the both of them. Luckily, they had some books but that doesn't really hold A's interest. So, then by the time she came back they were both tired of waiting and being in there.

Morgan is allergic to weeds, mold, and cats. This is no surprise. These are most most severe allergies. The thing that concerned her was her asthma control. Finally, something I agreed with. So, we started Singulair last night on top of her zyrtec and prilosec and maybe we won't have to do the albuterol everyday. If that doesn't work then we will try flovent.

I am just so frustrated! Went to the dentist and that wore me out. Morgan wanted me right next to her but I am trying to wrangle a 15 month old who never stops. So, I was exhausted. Then we were going to see my grandparents and I had a wreck. When I left yesterday morning I knew things were going to go bad. I just had this feeling and really just wanted to stay home. The lady stopped at the stop sign. She was turning right, as was I. She started going, because no one was coming, so I looked left and I guess she decided to stop instead of go. So, as I moved up to the stop sign she stopped. I hit her. It wasn't hard and not bad. She just acted like I did it on purpose. She was so rude. Could she not tell I was a stressed out mother! SeriousLy!!

I'm so sorry about your all around crappy day. I hope things go better today. One of those days where you just want to crawl back in bed and pull the covers over your head. I'm glad no one was hurt in the accident. I had one similar to that a few years ago. I honestly thought the person in front of me went. It was no big deal no injuries just another nuisance to deal with.

On the plus side it looks like your school is winning the votes. I vote a few times a day and this morning you were in the lead.

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
I don't understand why your allergist would want you to start her on things she is allergic to. That makes NO SENSE. The whole point of a formula-only diet is to allow the body to why in the crap would this doctor immediately try to pump her full of foods she obviously is ALLERGIC to???????? Seriously, I am no doctor, but Sebastian's allergist is, and that goes against everything we have learned from him (and the one other good allergist we see...I actually invited that one to Sebastian's birthday party.). If that were me (a non-doctor), I would consider starting her on foods I knew she has no problems with. That way, if she reacted, I'd know that she wasn't healed up and that she needed a little longer on formula only...

I went to the dentist, too!

Coyle Eagan. One Year Old. Doing well on Cow's Milk flavored with juice :) Drinking two bottles of Go&Grow daily. Eating solids better but still have rough days. No More Silent Reflux-that I can hear anyway.. but puking again. Zantac 2ML 2X daily.
Sheesh. I'm surprised that she wants you to start with foods like that. i'd print a list of the least allergenic foods from and then go off that list and your list of what you know she's been fine with. you need a break!

Wow, sounds like the kind of advice Meggy's docs have given. Sorry to hear this. Yeah, I would hang on to the doing better as long as possible. Introducing the foods that u know are okay.
Sorry to hear of your accident but so glad u r okay. I have been hit by a teenager, someone who didn't speak English, a woman going 85 miles an hour, then my brakes went out and I hit someone at a stop sign. Ouch, I think of it every time I get in the car. Thankfully it was all before Meggy was born. I pray I have had my turn with car accidents and that God will protect her.
The waiting at the doc. office is hard too. Sure hope today was a better day, and tomorrow will be even better.
Check with your
doctor first!
