Mags
She's getting tubes next Thursday. One more thing to think about. I'm glad she's getting them but nervous at the same time.

Are they just doing the tubes? I am glad she is getting them as well. Still scary when it is your kid going through sx!

Yeah...I guess. I'm a newbie. I told him I might have more ?? after I talk to my buddies :) Should I ask for something else? Are you thinking adenoids?

Mom (Danie) to Adam (9-4-03) & Nate (3-7-07) Nate was diagnosed with silent AR at 2 months old. He was on neocate, prevacid 30mg per day and couldn't start solids till he was almost 8 months old. He started cow's milk at 14 months and is currently off all meds!! So far so good :) PIC: Disney trip 2008. Nate didn't know Piglet was there, he didn't like the characters too much.
It will be so much better for her. We did Adam's adenoids and tonsils all at the same time...but he was having breathing issues as well. I use OTC ear plugs for him. I put them in at every bath, swim time or even running thru the sprinkler, lol. It is definitely harder going thru it when it is your child having the surgery...it will go so fast if it is just the tubes. You can call me now if your still up to talking, I am finally home.

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
Did the ENT check her adenoids? I'm sure he probably did (he would have felt along her neck). If you can get by with just tubes, that's great - the recovery time for those is very quick (if my nephew is any indication). We haven't been able to get Halley to wear the earplugs - she plucks them out - so we've been covering some cotton with Vaseline and sticking them in her ears. It seems to be working ok - we'll see when we have our follow up appointment next week. I'll be thinking of you that day...even though it's *minor*, nothing's minor when it's your child.

Thanks y'all! I was just laying in bed thinking about having her "put under". It's scary...but I'll keep telling myself that it'll be ok. Do I need to tell him that Morgan is sensitive to the "happy gas"? Could that mean that Mags might be sensitive to this? Just thinking...

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
GOOD! I hope this helps! Maybe the car issues have something to do with her ears? Kind of like when we are on a plane....maybe the motion gives her vertigo or something because of her ear issues? Seriously - let me know if things get better post-tubes.

I've wondered about the car thing too. We'll see.
Check with your
doctor first!
