Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
SICK AFTER EGD
Just wondering if others experienced this after the scope. Katie has been feeling sick today after the scope. She threw up and kind of has chills -no fever. She is sleeping now.

Donnessa, mom to Halley born 3/10/07
Reflux (mostly) resolved at 14 months
and Addison born 8/17/09. Currently exclusively bf and on 7.5mg Prevacid
My dd hasn't had that procedure, but they warned us that vomiting could be a side effect of the anesthesia. Hope your little sweetie starts feeling better.

Jessica, Mommy to Jedd, severe reflux, severe food and oral aversions, Finally G tube free!!! VSD repair 4-24-07 (open heart surgery), hypospadias, repaired 3 times and Ear tubes Visit Jedd at his CB site: www.caringbridge.org/visit/jedd
Jedd ran a fever for about 24 hours after his EDG. It scared the dickens out of me due to his caridac issues and needing ABX before druing and after the procedure. The EDG was Jedd's first OR trip after the BIG heart reapir.

Extra vomitting can be her reaction to the sedations. I'd give her 24 hours before I worry too much. Unlesss the fever sky rockets then of course you need to go in.

Tracey, mom to Katie. Diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks and put on Zantac. At 8 months old she was removed from Zantac as it was giving her migraines, currently on Prevacid. Switched to Elecare since she is not gaining weight; trialing solids after being off for a month. Geneticist said reason she isn't gaining weight is she is stubborn. Upcoming appts.: Neurologist for developmental delay and EGD scheduled for September. She is one funny baby!

Glad that she did great! Our Katie is acting like herself with the exception of a horrible cough that I know is a reaction to the tube since it comes and goes.

Katie threw up a little but that is very normal to the anesthesia. Did you call about the fever?

The fever is coming down a bit. I paged the surgeon so hopefully she will call and tell me that all this is normal.
