I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
I am having a happy memory moment
When Joslyn was born... we took ALOT of pics. Then we went to scottish rite for 5 days. We did not take any pics there at all. We did not want to remember the wires, needles, machines, tests, metal bed, alarms..... so on and so on. But when we got home we took ALOT of pics again! I was looking back at some of them today. Here is a link to some pics http://picasaweb.google.com/msjacky/JoslynOliviaGrowingUp# All of those pictures bring back so many wonderful memories.... She is an amazing little girl, the light of our lives. She may have us worry, very often, but we would not want our lives to be any different! We have her and that is all that matters! I hope you dont mind me posting the pics..... but I am just so proud of her. She really does not let anything slow her down! She is such a mommy and daddy girl! If someone else holds her and she can not se eus she gets sooo upset! And dont even think about holding her right away! If you are not me or daddy.... she has to get used to you! I LOVE THAT! hehe**Jacky

The 3rd picture was taken the morning we were rushed to Scottish Rite. At that moment all was quiet... we did not have a worry at that time. what a change a few hours can do!

Lorenzo b.4/25/07 1 week in NICU w/ aspirate pneumonia from a reflux episode; diagnosed GERD at 9weeks; Used Zantac for 5months. Currently using Chinese Medicine and Craniosacral Therapy. GERD, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Sensory Processing Disorder. Ask me about breastfeeding a refluxer! Pic: day 5 in the NICU.
What a cutie! It sounds like we had similar experiences with our little ones in those early days... My DH took lots of pictures throughout, and it took me months to be able to look at them without sobbing. Congratulations on every beautiful (even if challenging) day you have with your "sticky bean"!

ethan's mom
Meridith, mom to Ethan born 4/23/08. Ethan was diagnosed with reflux at about 1 month. He has been on Zantac (unsuccessful) and Prevacid. He is currently taking 7.5 mg of Prevacid 2x per day, with good results. We also suspect MPI, though this hasn't been confirmed by a doctor yet.
Ethan is mostly breastfed, though we are doing one bottle of soy formula each day. We also do some homeade "solids' including, so far pears, avocado, sweet potato, and peaches.

Such a cute "photo diary". Joslyn is a cutie. Is she really sitting up on her own? What an accomplishment!

She is very close to sitting on her own! All she needs is alittle support on her lower back. She can sit up if she uses her arms in front of her... but it is not up straight. But I call that sitting by herself!!!!! hehe
Check with your
doctor first!
