Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Whaddaya know- the praying worked!!! -OT. I mean REALLY OT.
For my dog! Louise got out today, and I almost had a heart attack. My giant coonhound wasn't wearing her collar, and she ran right down the deck steps and took off into the great green yonder. I seriously thought that was it since we live near apretty busy road. My husband drove around frantically in search of her while I put Sebastian down for a nap. When Bassy fell asleep, I took a turn behind the wheel. I stalked every biker and dogwalker I could find. Louise loves people but is a huge a**hole to other dogs, so I knew if she were in the vicinity, they would KNOW. No such luck.

After turning back into my court, defeated, I saw my big, dopey dog running back down the street...and then I saw her turn onto my court! I started beeping my horn like crazy, and this weird family in a minivan shot me evil glances. Then I jumped out and picked up my 60-pound dogger and threw her in my front seat (Thank you, Bassy, for being huge and preparing me for her heftiness!).

I really thought this was the end of my dog. I prayed for her safe return, and I got my wish!

ethan's mom
Meridith, mom to Ethan born 4/23/08. Ethan was diagnosed with reflux at about 1 month. He has been on Zantac (unsuccessful) and Prevacid. He is currently taking 7.5 mg of Prevacid 2x per day, with good results. We also suspect MPI, though this hasn't been confirmed by a doctor yet.
Ethan is mostly breastfed, though we are doing one bottle of soy formula each day. We also do some homeade "solids' including, so far pears, avocado, sweet potato, and peaches.

yay! missing dogs are sad! found dogs is a much happier story! :) i remember when my uncles HUGE part bull mastiff, part german rot willer, part mutt got out on my watch. she HATES dogs too i was so afraid she would attack another one and we would get a phone call that she was shot or picked up by animal control OR we would never see her again cause they live in the middle of the country. i drove around and finally found her 4 miles away. i tempted her with a car ride and it was all she could do to get in the car as fast as she could, she rode with her head out the window the whole ride home lol

cool pics :) I like the virgin mary one, but the dracula one is much more seasonal (halloween). Glad you got him back. My cat left for 16 days once when the weather was record breaking hot (like, 116 degrees), and livestock and old people were dying right and left. That was B.E. (before Elyse), when he was my "baby"...now he's just a cat.

I felt soooooo bad because Louise has really been getting on my nerves lately. I had even made up a song line about her. Sebastian has this stupid Leap Frog bongo drum that says, "We dance! And we sing! When we play the drum!" I have been dreaming about sending her off to the glue factory so I changed the line to "We dance! and we sing! When Louise turns to glue." I guess I shouldn't have done that.

Picture: This is what happens when you raise a kid on health food and they get ahold of a Coke! Bad mom, that soda is NOT on the reflux diet.
UPDATE: Isaiah is now 12 and off meds! He is doing great, eating again and hopefully will be catching up in the growing department. I am still in the "hoping it sticks" phase, but we're so happy that he's better!
ROTFL.....Melissa, I love reading your posts because they always make me smile! And I *love* the pics...especially the one on the roof of her mouth. I share your conflicted feelings about your dog...I want to kill mine most of the time, and yet I would be heartbroken if anything happened to her! I'm glad Louise is safe and sound.
Check with your
doctor first!
