OUR UPDATE! NOLAN
Hey everyone. We are doing a milk switch over now and it is going wonderful. I don't want to jinx myself but I think we will be off of formula soon. I hope I've bought the last can this weekend. It doesn't surpise me cause he was on milk based formula. He is starting to grow more indep. food wise and is taking a straw sippy cup pretty good. He doesn't care for cold milk though so I'm just trying to make it a little colder each time. We are still on the solutabs. I am hoping once we have switched to cow's milk I can then wean off of meds. I am still hesitant about table foods but I am trying to let him try new things. He is starting to get mad that I am feeding him. He is so close to walking. He is just to scared to let go. He is also starting to talk. I'm trying to keep my sanity. I'm potty training three kids now! Plus Nolan is on the move and into everything.

I don't respond all the time but I try to read all of the posts and I think of you all often. I hope to soon be one of the ones who are "just here to annoy you"! And Nolan can join the med free out grown reflux los. (((HUGS))) Amber

Julie - I have three children. My youngest Katie is my refluxer. My first Ben was very colicy and is ADHD. My middle Jakob is pretty easy going. Katie had it bad as a baby no sleep for two years. She was on Nutramagin, Prevacid and Zantac. Thought we were through it but after age three it came back big time. After her scope she was put on Prevacid 45mg a day and mylanta as needed. Scope was in Sept. Showed damage in stomach and espophogus. It took about 7 months of medication and Reflux diet for her to start feeling better.
How wonderful that he is taking to the milk so well. Things should just keep getting better for him. Soon relux will be a distant memory - we pray!

I am Jacky, mommy to Joslyn Olivia (April 2008) and Katelyn Isabel (November 2009).
Joslyn was dx'ed with Silent Reflux with breath apnea at 5 days old. VERY SCARY!
Katelyn is a spitter reflux baby. Started at 3 days old as well. (Both were/are breast fed.. symptoms came on when my milk came in).
Joslyn has been reflux free since she was 12 months (suffered poor weight gain for a few months) and Katelyn is now on Zantac... waiting to see if it works.
how wonderful!!!!!

Melissa - Mommy to Sebastian, born 9/28/07 @ 7 lbs 7 oz and 20.75 in. At docs at 12 months: 27 pounds and 32 in! Good grief! GERD - currently on Prevacid suspension (liquid equivalent of 45 mg a day). Allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, all treenuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, peas, sesame, bananas, barley, coconut, dust, dust mite, dog, cat, latex. Seasonal allergies. Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS). Neocate only - no solids - until further notice (drinks and loves water, too). Loves his doggie, our rescued Treeing Walker Coonhound, Louise, even though he is allergic to her. Louise will make your doctor a homemade pie if you would like her to. PHOTO: We couldn't do a cake on Sebastian's birthday, but that didn't stop him from tossing around the contents of a big bowl of popcorn! He now tries to eat it when we play with popcorn, so no more of that game.... :(
Hey Amber! Great news on Nolan!! What a big boy! He is gonig to off and walking so soon, but I guess you know that because you have three kids!

When Nolan is ready to stand up and pee, you can always try the Cheerio trick....throw a few in the toilet and have him aim for them with his, well, pee. My sister's friend used it for her two boys and swears by it!!

I don't think Nolan will be potty training anytime soon but thanks for the tip. Right now I'm training a 3.5 year old, and 2- 2.5 year olds. I spend my day in the bathroom or cleaning up accidents. But I can't wait till they are trained. I change 5 kids' diapers during the day at least 3 times a day:P

Our 1 year old daughter has silent reflux, hypotonia as well as benign external hydrocephalus. We are currently weaning onto whole milk (we'll see if it works) and she is also on Prevacid 15mg per day.
Hey how'd he get to try milk when he's younger than Keira?!? :P Glad it's going so well! They're growing up too fast! :)

OOOOOOOOohhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I saw the "3 kids" and thought your baby was superhuman...like one of those babies that comes out of the womb ready to use the toilet!

Sadie~ I thought why wait. He has no trouble with dairy so I thought I'd do the milk first then do a med wean and didn't want to wait to long.

Melissa~ I WISH:)
